Cannot get internet access on daughters laptop?

Options
My daughter cannot get internet access any more on her laptop.

The error message she is receiving is:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Then when I 'diagnose connection problems' I get:

Problems found
The remote device or resource won't accept the connection

But nothing to say what to do! I have no idea what this means or what I need to do to solve the problem. Can anyone help???

Thank you!!

Check your adaptors list and see if it has thrown-up a duplicate adaptor/connection - My laptop does that occasionally and it can happen on both wired or wireless (mostly wireless), delete the offending connection and restart.

For wireless, check the adaptor properties to see if the IPV6 protocol is enabled/disabled. Some wireless need it enabled, others don't. My work's wireless network won't connect if it is enabled, whilst my home network requires it. Easy to switch on and off. :)

Has she made any changes to the video setup recently? Some video chip setings can cause them to block-out the wireless. If so, change back to a setting that worked before.

    Also what version of windows?

And what make/model of laptop - If there is a known connection problem, there may be a fix/workaround/update on their website/support forums.

    No idea!!!!

On the Internet explorer menu bar, click on 'Help', then 'About Internet Explorer' and see what the version number is.
