I recommend Turtle Bags - brilliant little bags in all sorts of colours that you can pop in your pocket and use any time. They hold an enormous amount.

  • I second Turtle Bags. I won 5 in a competition last year and haven't used any other shopping bag since. You can get tons in them and they are great for slipping over the handle of a buggy. I don't leave the house without one in my pocket ;)
  • I found this site

    http://shop.thecleverbaggers.co.uk/store/pc/home.asp

They have a massive range of cotton and heavy weight canvas bags, they do a few other things as well including fabric paints pens etc. I found their prices very reasonable and they have next day delivery / same day dispatch.

    Hope this helps!
  • i have also used cleverbaggers but was a bit miffed with them - I ordered 40 small cloth bags for a craft project for a Brownie holiday. Within less than a couple of weeks their prices had been cut such that I would have saved around £20 in total on my order. I had already received the bags but they weren't used yet, still packaged up, so I decided to email them and ask very very politely whether it would be possible for them to honour the lower price for my order, since we were a charity and that £20 would go a LONG way for us. I had a very blunt email back from them saying no certainly not. Not even an "I'm sorry but unfortunately ....". I know perhaps it was a little cheeky to ask but you don't ask you don't get.
I was going to send them back, get a refund and reorder but i wasn't sure I would have them all back in time for the holiday.
Anyway their curt bordering on rude response really surprised me and put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and wouldn't use them again :-( ALthough yes I do admit that their delivery was good and their prices are NOW reasonable although not so much when I purchased!!!

(One last thing - the above is totally 100% true, but is OT I admit, I only bothered to write it here it because I suspect florble may work for cleverbaggers... if you don't, florble, I do apologise for doubting your motives!).

M & S do a string bag I think by their checkouts these days. However if you are handy you could do as I have done amd make them from the pattern on https://www.morsbags.com . I use old curtains given away on freecycle to make them.

I was in Sainsburys today and spotted cotton shopping bags for 99p each on 3for2 offer. They're quite big and they look nicer than most other shopping bags I've found
