i dont know how you get the green club card points added if you use the self scan tills,
I think that if you're sad enough you can go to Customer Services and ask for them, but since I use the self-scan tills in the vain hope that it might save me some time I just can't cope with it!

But they do! I looked specially today, and they had them at most of the tills. I think they've had them before, although I could be wrong ...

A colleague today was sporting a little bag from IKEA - it's like their 'big' bags which you can buy for 50p, only more shopping bag sized. And it only costs 15p!

I don't know how green people would consider it, BUT to me it's an excellent compromise between the 'folding small enough to fit in your pocket' and 'staying open but folding flat' kinds I described above. And they have both short and long handles, so you can either carry them in your hand or on your shoulder - my favourite kind!

Next time I'm in IKEA I can see me buying LOTS - they'll be ideal round the office for when we do large mailings: put the stuffed letters all in a bag rather than a box, as easier to carry to the letter box, but take up no space when not needed!

Off topic, but the large IKEA bags make the most splendid laundry bags!

I was about to post this when I read your post ! IKEA bags are as tough as old boots, they're designed to be used thousands of times before falling to bits.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I saw some bags in Morrison's for sale the other week and the fold up very tightly and it has a fastener on itso you can pop it into a handbag, they had some funky colours too, shame morrisons dont encourage shoppers with bags for life

    (i work at morrison btw)

The folding tote bags are 69p from morisons
The bags for life which something like 3.5p goes to Asthma Uk are 10p each

I am a check out operator and we have to ask the customer :

Would you like any help with your packing?
Would you like a bag for life for 10p?
Would you like any saving stamps?
Would you like any cash back?

So if there isn't a supervisor/manager around many dont bother to ask all these questions some customers get very annoyed.

The 10p bag for life are not very well advertised around the stores and also if your bag breaks you can swap it for another one free.

I like the 69p tote one as they don't dig into your hands and are very strong.

Also Morrison will recycle your old plastic carriers.

    Anyway less about morrisons....

If i have any old jeans/clothes i try and make some bags out of them. They are all different and quite qurky

By the time our jeans are classed as old and discarded, they wouldn't make very strong bags. :rotfl:

I was going to say, I've sometimes been asked if I need help with my packing, but never as far as I recall if I'd like a bag for life, or if I'd like any stamps. I'm usually paying with a credit card so the last one's not relevant.

But I do like Morrisons ... well, given the choice round my way it's certainly my favourite! Also usually leave the M5 at Tewkesbury to go there for coffee when I'm taking DS1 to and from Uni - sooooo much cheaper than the services! Shame the cafe shuts earlier than I'm in need of it sometimes!
