Hi everyone
I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get hold of string or cotton shopping bags?
My house is slowly getting taken over be plastic bags and I want to try and avoid getting any more by carrying one of these instead... plus I'll get extra green points at tesco if I have one!! :j

Hi tink1981,
I bought a couple of strong cotton shopping bags from Amnesty International just before Christmas. They hold lots of shopping, and buying them helps a good cause!

Instructions for how to knit your own string bag......Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Hi tink1981
Primark do some excellent cotton bags with zip tops for £1.50. They wash well and carry loads.
Just watch out at Tesco as they don't always give you the green points you have to ask them!0 -
If you're anywhere near Manchester, Unicorn Grocery in Chorlton sell Jute shopping bags for £1.95. Clicky Here! I think they're the same as thegoodbagco bags mentioned above.
If you're not near Manchester I could be persuaded to buy some and post them to you for £1.95 + postage0 -
Loving my Good bag co bags :-) and I always get my points at Tesco lol0

Home Bargains have some black bags at the tills. I think they're 75p?0

If you have Tonys Textiles near you they give them out with purchases or you can pay for them (donation in the charity tub).
Oooh my mum lives near unicorn grocery in Chorlton but I think she got her bags from Lakeland Plastics - these little compact things that open up to the size of normal carriers0 -
I bought a string bag from lakeland, they are great as you can get so much in them and are easy to keep in your bag. I bought one of those roll up ones in a pouch from lakeland for someone as a Christmas gift, it did look nice and was a good size.0
