Hey
My budget is £160 for 2 adults (plus 3 kids at the weekends). Its a big cut down from about £360/month but we have lots of food in at the mo and are away for 7 days skiing in Italy. So really should be able to manage it even though its going to be tough!0 -

If you look further back on this thread there are lots of links to packed lunch ideas, see if that helps.Miggy

Morning all.
Off to asda today for the week's shopping - have made a list and hopefully will not stray too far, although dds are coming with me which will be fun.
I think I might give them £1.50 each [I have about £3 in coupons!] and let them buy their own goodies, which will hopefully stop the goodies going in the trolley when I'm not looking!
Regards

Hi everyone
Just a reminder that I'll be unsticking this thread some time late today - by which time it'll be the featured challenge in our Monthly Challenges sticky.
You can find the challenges via the link in my signature any time you see it or...

Missed the goal for last month, so will try again for £180 this month.
Went shopping last week in Asda (not my favourite shop as it's always busy and people seem to drive their trolley into the back of you even when you are stood still!!!) got lots of reduced meat and have lived of rubber chicken the last 3 days so not doing too badly. Just need bread milk and veg for the next two weeks or more so hopefully might make it this month.
Got lots more ideas from the cheap (was it 50p or something) meals thread last month so might be doing lots of that later in the month.
No sweets, biscuits or cakes unless it's low fat so will be baking several low fat banana cakes through the month.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I'm going to join, but having failed in the past to stick to my target, I'm not going to set myself a target yet, I'm just going to keep a record of how much I spend and what I actually buy over the next few weeks, and see what changes I can make, and then set myself a realistic target. Also, we do still have some food left over from christmas, not loads as we didnt go overboard, but that needs using up before I do a proper shop.
So far this year I have spent:
Salad and veg: £3.18
Milk and ham at Heron: £1.58
Total spent so far: £4.760 -
Fisrt week and I managed to stay inside the budget. I spent £5 in Sainsburys on Sunday and today I went to HB, Aldi and Asda and only spent a further £35. I was quite strict with myself and kept telling myself...'you don't need it if it isn't on the list.0

Hi
I am going to join in this challenge as well. I did try earlier last year, but as I don't post very often I failed. So this year I am going to post more often and update my signature to show how much I am spending.
I get paid weekly on a Thursday and spend between £70-£80. I think if I try to cut this down to £60 for the first few weeks I should manage. I will try this and then cut it down a bit further.
Wish me luck.0
