Last night I went to SW which seemed a bit better, probably because there were less of us. Anyway I picked up the latest copy of the mag, got myself some hi-lite rocky road bars, got my raffle ticket and put a tin of sweetcorn into the Slimmer of the Week hamper.

I was stunned when I was told that I was Slimmer of the Week having lost 2lbs - my hamper contained lots of satsumas, 2 hilite caramel bars, 1 hilite rocky road and 1 hilite cranberry, an orange, a nectarine and a double pack of sugar free raspberry jelly. I must admit that I did query why I had won and was told that it was because I had lost weight last week and this week although I only lost half a pound last week whereas another lady who had shifted more weight than me this week had put on weight for the last 2 weeks and therefore did not qualify. I have a sticker for my book and a certificate.

I am surprised because I did eat some bad things last week and lots of good things.

Mum & Dad have just been round - dad fixed my waterbutt and mum dug out the half moon border at the side of my lawn. I was aghast when she rang me because she caught me sitting down having my lunch as she had only been around in the morning giving me earache. She came to wash the windows down even those that are being removed on Thursday - she gave me earache about fly poo and how it covered the one window frame and as she had previously scrubbed it down then it could only have come from a plague of flies in my house - I havent had a fly in this house since I moved in!

She heard my washing machine playing up this morning - I had set for 30 mins and it was still going over an hour later and sounded bad. She has rung the supplier who are sending someone out on Monday afternoon - she did drop off the receipt this afternoon as proof of purchase because I will need to show it when the chap comes to repair it. I was also given £4 of M&S vouchers to use when I go to town tomorrow - I was told to treat myself to some posh food.

Beanie - my mum is obsessed with cleaning. I even brushed the walls of the side lobby but obviously did not do a good job so she went over it again (funny though she missed a cobweb:rotfl:).

I have just spoken to Mum to give her the measurements of my water butt because she is off to BnQ to see if they have any stands as my butt is lacking a stand. She is going to sort some plants out for me to go into the half moon bed - e.g a perennial pink, a heuchera (a red one this time), some black grass and something else and I will under plant with crocuses. I do not want anything tall in that bed.

Must admit that I am really chuffed at getting Slimmer of the Week as it was totally unexpected. I am actually starting to like going - the consultant isnt too bad and she has said that she will go right back to basics next month (next week) which will be good. Plus I can take that tin of sweetcorn for the hamper and hope that I don't win it again:rotfl:

I had quite a productive morning at Remploy today and managed to get put in for two jobs and earmarked some jobs that I am applying for - one is a really interesting one in a dental laboratory and another is a 24 month fixed term working in the local courts as a civil servant. I have others to apply for too. I will sort these out tomorrow when the window men are here.

I have to sort out the cleaning as it would appear that the bathroom is not as clean as Mum would like - it is a room that gets used on a daily basis so now I have had to wedge all my pills potions etc into the cupboard which has to morph into a tardis in order to fit everything in:(

I got a few treats in MnS today too - but I was quite good and only bought their diet foods. Talking of MnS I was talking about them at Remploy today and offered to go to a different store but was told that I was going in January or February for my placement because I had initially chosen the city centre branch, I was not aware at the time that I could have chosen Solihull branch which I can get to by bus (it takes 70 minutes). So now I have to wait until January - I may have got a job by then and then I wouldnt be able to go.

I need to sort out a hair appointment, make some calls, sort out my applications and sort out this box that mum is nagging me about and I must arrange another GP appointment to sort out my knees which are getting worse. I was crouching down in the garden yesterday helping dad with the water butt and I was in agony:(

Best crack on so that I pass inspection tomorrow.

Today did not go as planned although I have now tidied up my office/2nd bedroom. The window men came but Mum turned up and nagged at me about my hair - she said that she wondered what I did all day so I gave her list. Jeepers, I want to be able to enjoy the house a bit without her nagging at me. Still she took away the net curtain to wash it, gave me a pint of milk, some ecloths, my tin of silvo which she had taken with her by accident and a new door bell.

The window chaps were great - they cleaned up their mess, fitted my new door bell and fitted a new front door and even they commented on how light the hallway looked since they changed the door. I had a new front window and a new kitchen window which has a window that opens from the bottom which is much easier to reach and to open. Where I thought I would have gaps by the old sills and where they put the lintels in - they have done a good repair job and fitted everything properly and covered the gaps properly and not with glue like the con merchants who fitted the original windows.

I was hoping to crack on with applications today but I had another visitation this afternoon and this time dad came too. Mum spent an hour in the garden in the pouring rain - she also had to deal with fat Mr Toad although he has now been frightened away and she has blocked his hole with a large stone so he can't get through from next door anymore:j She helped me with my cleaning and whilst we were sorting things out she asked if I would be happier living in a flat - I said not because I was suicidal living in the flat as I could not cope with excess noise or breathing in noxious illegal substances. She then suggested that I go to my GP and ask for anti depressants because I need something to lift my mood, I did say that I didnt want to take them because I could remember what she was like when she was on them and I don't want to be like that:( Mind you it was over 20 years' ago now since she last took them so I am hoping that things will have changed since then because I don't want to feel like a zombie.

As they were leaving I picked up the water butt base and a new tap that dad had got in the boot of the car.

I am busy cleaning - the brick dust gets everywhere - my kitchen is still orange despite large amounts of cleaning:(

Sounds like the house is coming together nicely, must be nice to have new windows, mine are so old they dont even close properly!

If you feel anti-deps might help you then you should ask the doc about side effects, Im sure in 20years they will have changed a bit and might not be so bad :)

Sorry not checked in for a while - I did manage to get a same day appointment at the docs on Friday and now have some anti-Ds which seem to be working, the only side effect that I have is a headache other than that I am fine.

I have had a few spendy days - on Sunday morning I was out with mum and we made the mistake of stepping into M&Co - we went upstairx to the Eastex/Dash section and they had a sale on, I spent £8 on a tshirt which had been reduced from £29, mum spent £11 on a cardigan which had been reduced from £40. We then went to Worcester to D*nelm and got some hooks for my nets (so that the pole doesnt sag) and Mum got me a sugar bowl and a mat for my loo. I even bumped into one of my old school chums - she hasnt changed a bit and do feel guilty that we lost contact other than an annual christmas card - the last time I saw her was when her oldest daughter was 3 months old - she is now 21:eek:

We then went to the garden centre as I had got my gardening club card as I wanted to buy a border spade to go with the border fork I already have and as luck would have it they had an offer on so that I could buy one garden tool and get another so I got an edging knife as Mum wanted it because she has large lawns. When we got home she did give me some money towards it.

I was quite pleased as I had £38.50 back from the Saturday Fund for my dental treatment (dentist cost me £50). Mum came round yesterday morning to do a bit of gardening and then came back in the afternoon with dad as my nets had fallen down so he had to put the hooks up - I should never have left him alone because he managed to knock then end off my curtain rail and must have yanked the curtains because the one curtain was then only held on by 4 hooks (I only noticed when I went to draw the curtains after it got dark). Mum used some industrial strength weedkiller on the garden too as there is just too much to dig over. I cleaned out my shed and now everything is neatly packed away and more importantly I have floor space.:j

I am due to come into some more money as my items sold at auction yesterday - I had some glassware which included my mum's wedding present (something which she hated and passed to me but I also hated it) it sold for £55 (erstimate £40-60) and a teal silk panel (found when we cleared MIL's cottage and it was given to me by ex OH) which sold for £60 (estimate £60-80). Mum was quite chuffed too because her items sold for £70. Of course we will get a bit less than that because the commission has to come off and the sellers fee.

I did not do well at SW this week as I managed to put on a pound. Still we have gone back to basics and I am doing a heck of a lot more exercise and now I am eating smaller meals - I now have a mid morning and mid afternoon snack (usually fruit). It is the only way in which I can eat all the food that I am required to eat.
