Thanks Beanie.
Must admit that I am toying with an idea re SW but first I want to lose some weight, I quite fancy being a consultant as it is something that I would enjoy.
I must admit that I am not entirely good and do have some syns every day but I try and keep them fairly low in number. This morning I made myself a lovely breakfast - some chopped fresh plums with a good globbet of fat free natural yoghurt with a few spoons of granola (alas granola is a syn). I did fall off the waggon a bit too because I got a bit stressed and ended up eating 6 morning coffee biscuits:eek::o
My undercarriage felt a bit unwell this morning and along with painful knees decided not to go to Remploy so I postponed my trip there. I have used the time wisely and have emptied out some crates and moved furniture about (not heavy furniture).
I have been busy meal planning in my head and making plans for the house and garden.0 -
hi Horace,
i've been to SW and at one point i had lost 4.5 st! Make sure you have at least 5 syns a day and all of your a & b choice. i liked Sw cos i could have meals which didn't need any faffing about with weighing.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
Oh bother I have fallen off the waggon and eaten a whole load of chocolate today - there must have been something in it that my body craved because now I have no interest in the stuff. I am still eating healthy foods and having my a and b choices too.
I prefer SW to WW because I can eat normal food and don't have to faff around - life is too short to faff around with food.
Had to laugh this morning - mum rang my mobile and asked if there was a problem with my phone at home because I wasnt answering it so I said that I wasnt answering it because I wasnt at home I was in the supermarket:rotfl: She asked me if she could help me with my sorting out and once again I refused - she is worried that the house won't be tidy for the window men who are coming to install new windows downstairs on 30 August. I have pretty much cleared the mess from my bedroom - just some clothes on the bed to put away and my back bedroom is half cleared, I just need to go through things and look for my car regisrration document because if I cannot find it then I have to pay for a new one.
My kitchen looks tidier because whilst I was in Aldi this morning I noticed that they had some over cupboard door towel rails so I bought two and have them over the double doors by the sink - one to hold my teatowel and the other my towel. Instantly my kitchen looks a lot tidier.:j
@beanielou - I notice that Aldi will be selling Jeyes bin freshener on Thursday - available in lemon or original for £1.99.0 -
I know I havent reported in for a while - the house and life got in the way.
I spent Sunday at my parents because I had been invited over for Sunday lunch (a nice chicken roast), I had to nip to the farm shop to buy some bird seed and runner beans for mum and I stocked up with fruit and some much needed veg. I also had a look at the plug plants that mum is bringing on for me, she participated in the same offer so she has her own plants to bring on as well. I also raided her greenhouse for tomatoes:D
I mistakenly thought I had an appointment with Remploy on Monday so headed into town, I got there a bit early so went to the courts and filed for my decree absolute (probably the best £45 I have ever spent in my life:rotfl:). I then headed to Remploy who told me that I did not have an appointment:mad: They are not very good at communicating I must say.
I came home and headed straight for the loo and instantly regretted flushing it because the toilet would not stop flushing, I tried to tinker but nothing worked. The loo had been playing up for a while as it would continue to flush for 5 mins after the initial flush and the time increased to 15 mins but I ignored it. I eventually rang my parents in desperation on Monday night and Dad came round immediately but he too was unable to fix it and he promised to return the next morning. I had to suffer with the sound of rushing water all night:o Still, he came back as promised on Tuesday morning and fixed it for me - I felt guilty because he never gets out of bed before lunchtime and here he was at my house at around 9.30am, he really is getting more and more breathless so I fear that he may be passing over this year:(
I did not get on well at SW having only lost half a pound - I did not get a round of applause and felt totally alienated. Still I paid for 5 sessions and got a 6th free because I am going to persevere. The consultant looked at my food diary and said that I do not eat enough - I am finding it quite hard to eat the quantities of food expected because I tend to only eat when I am hungry. I cannot eat for the sake of eating. I must admit that I am not overly impressed with the consultant she doesnt explain things well and I only discovered that each member of the group has to contribute to the Slimmer of the Week hamper - I have enough trouble providing food for myself without having to provide something to go in the hamper as well. I would love to know what she looked like before losing weight because without wanting to sound catty she could do with losing a few stone herself as she is rather rotund:eek:
Dad told me not to feel disheartened because half a pound is half a pound and is therefore a start. He told me not to worry about not stuffing my face with food or even eating the quantities of food that I am expected to by SW because I will gradually lose weight. He said that I will lose weight because I have a large garden to contend with and I have to mow the lawn as well. I already get plenty of exercise as I walk to the village to do my shopping and it is all up and down hill.
Dad suggested that I get myself a carpet sweeper like Mum's to save me from lugging my vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs (I store it in one of the upstairs cupboards on the landing). I remembered that I had £50 of Arg*s vouchers that I got from Consumerpulse so I went out on Wednesday and spent them and bought myself a rechargeable sweeper. It is great and quite lightweight and I have used it to clean all the carpets and get the bits up in the kitchen.
Whilst I was out in town on Monday I nipped into Poundland and bought 2 bags of bulbs - 30 yellow crocus and 15 mixed daffs/narcissus. Mum told me that she too had bought bulbs for me 2 packs of crocus and some early tulips. I plan to put the crocus and the daffs in the front garden, the early tulips will go in my large terracotta pot with a load of other bulbs and plants for a long flowering spring display.
I still need to tidy my bedrooms - these are mostly done but I shall finish them this weekend for certain. Next Thursday they are coming to fit some new windows and a front door and then I can sort out my contents insurance. The electrician will be coming soon too hence the need for the tidying up to be finished.
In other news - I have found my vehicle registration document thus saving me £25 for a replacement. I found said document last night when I was looking for something else. Now I need to find my expired passport and the photos that I had done in June so that I can apply for a new driving licence and maybe a new passport.
Things are slowly coming together and when the windows have been done the decorating will start and the house will feel more like mine. I also need to get a new house number as I am fed up with the one on the wall currently as it has Irises on it and as the previous occupant was called Iris I want the house to feel like my house and not hers.0 -
i would suggest moving to a different class if you don't like the consultant. i'm sure you can carry the weeks you have paid for with you.
as for the Sw basket, it doesn't have to be a bit of fruit, i used to take tins or packets of noodles.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
Any SW queries give me a wee shout.
Im so very lucky that our consultant is just lovely.

I shall see how I get on with this consultant because Monday was the first time I met her as she was on holiday for the first week. I will see what I can find in my store cupboard that I can donate to the food basket - in fact I have a tin of sweetcorn that was bought for me to use but I am not overly fond of the stuff (I dont mind the odd kernal in mixed veg but the thought of a whole tin full makes me feel queasy - this is because my mum had a party when I was younger and sweetcorn was considered to be all the rage so we ended up with bowls of the wretched stuff which eventually had to be chucked).
I decanted my sloe vodka yesterday which has been fermenting for 12 months unfortunately I could not fit it all into the two vodka bottles that the vodka originally came out of so I poured it into a small cream jug. I decided to try a small shot last night which was swiftly followed by another because it was so moreish - I shall finish it off tonight and I have kept a bottle in the pantry for myself and my best mate Sal is going to have to the other because I promised it to her a long time ago. Of course if it had tasted awful then she would not have had it but it tastes delish and unlike neat vodka.
Mum tipped me off about a job this morning at a local funeral directors so now I am having to dust off my trusty fountain pen and will be practising writing with it until I can get my handwriting looking fantastic once more and then I will write the covering letter. I have been asked to handwrite this letter and although I could do it with a biro it just isnt the same.0 -
What a day. I was hoping to mow the lawns today as it seemed quite bright so I waited for the lawns to dry out before I did anything about them. On my way to the shed I decided to deadhead my tubs at which point I heard some very loud thunder which put paid to any plans for lawn mowing. It soon started raining with large heavy drops hitting my head so I retreated to the house. On looking out of the dining room window I noticed that the patio was awash with water so I decided to have a closer view from my side lobby where I could remain in the dry - alas it was not dry with water pouring in and flowing up hill so my coir mat was chucked into the kitchen and I rolled my trouser legs up and nipped to the green shed, carefully untwisting the wire to get into it (the door does not fit the hole so it closed with a piece of wire) and I managed to retrieve my wellies. I retreated back into the house.
A while later I looked out again and the side lobby was awash with water and everything looked rather wet. My lawns were flooded. Soon the sun came out so I went out and did a spot of sweeping up with the yard broom and I moved my tubs so they were not standing in so much water. The lawn looked dreadful so I nipped to the shed and got my fork out and started poking the fork into the ground in a vain attempt to get the water to drain away - each time I removed the fork it came out of the ground with a gloopy sucking sound. I vowed not to walk on it.
I wasn't out there for long when the thunder started again and once again the heavens opened. I was eventually able to escape later in the afternoon and I wandered off to the local shop for some treats. I looked at the front of the side lobby and could see where the water had flooded under the door (I have a door to the front) and had flooded across the lobby. I got back from the shop just in time as the heavens opened again as I wandered up the path.
I am hoping it won't be as bad tomorrow because I have been invited to mum's for dinner but if the weather is bad then I don't plan on driving anywhere.0 -
I had a lovely day at mum's and came home with some runner beans, a frozen chicken breast, a huge box of teabags (dad has decided that he doesnt like them), 3 pears, 3 apples and some sweets. Before people start saying that I shouldnt be eating sweets as I am on a diet these sweets were picked in the greenhouse and are in fact small tomatoes which I eat like sweets.
This morning, I have managed to mow the back lawn which I have discovered is being dug up not by squirrels but by foxes. When I saw my neighbours yesterday morning they asked if I had seen the foxes playing in my garden on Thursday - I hadnt and then I was asked if I was blind so I said that I was out in the morning and then after that I was doing housework and didnt really look out of the window. I have yet to see the foxes and I will do what I can to deter them - they cause damage in the garden by digging and they are not the cute fluffy creatures that my neighbour thinks they are. To be honest, I think she puts food out for them because she has already admitted to feeding the local squirrel population.
I have typed the minutes and really need to go out and get some bread. I think I will have crackers for lunch. I must also make some moves to prepare dinner because I have SW later. I probably havent lost any weight at all:( I am finding it really hard to eat more food. Mum was surprised yesterday because she offered me fruit and/or yoghurt after my lunch and I refused because I wasnt hungry. She is starting to think it odd that I don't eat after lunch until I have my dinner at night, she says that I must try and eat more.
Must look up a recipe for banana cake - I have 3 bananas which I know I won't ordinarily eat because their skins are going black which I normally make into a cake. I have thought of adapting the recipe that I usually use and instead of sugar use splenda instead.0
