My defence - you have no body, so no evidence of murder, so I'm not quilty of a murder that may not have been committed.
I wasn't there, and if I was there, I didn't do it, and if I did do it, it was self-defence....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

For me personally, very difficult slip catches with the ball coming at 90 mph are more impressive than this.
I'll side with maso.
Incredible catch. The camera behind the ropes really shows what a leap and what a controlled flick back infield it was.

Did you see the Terry Pratchett programme? There was an impressive (very posh alert) couple on it, and the husband didn't seem fearful, to me.
The Husband in the Terry Pratchett program seemed to me to be in full possession of his faculties and not particularly in pain. He was not depressed, and there seemed to be no reason at all for him to be taking his life at that stage. That was the overwhelming impression I had of the program, namely that UK laws were forcing people to take decisions that they would otherwise have been able to put off for a great deal of time.
There seem to be something inexorable about the Zürich setup, i.e. it was all done to a timetable. Very Swiss. There seemed to be no possibility that perhaps people might just enjoy a few days in Zürich and then turn up at the industrial estate in order to be terminated. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

A couple of contradicting quotes there Mrs NDG.
Just own up and we will be lenient with you :cool:0 -

In those circumstances I'd wish I had Marilou Henner's memory. She played Elaine in Taxi but had a mental condition that made memorising lines easy!
It's called hyperthymesia, also known as superior autobiographical memory so she remembers everything that ever happened to her from an early age. I fyou said to her 26th August 1983 she'd tell you what she wore, what she ate. There was a TV documentary where these people met up and they gave them a date and they all shouted "Tuesday" I went to this or that....and so on!
As for me, I'm dateblind. Tell me today's date and ask me what Tuesday's date will be- I'd need to get a diary out. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I always shop in Tesco. Sainsbury's have just sent vouchers that Tesco no longer accept.
12p off fuel with a £60 shop and then the next week £12 off a £60 spend.
Sainsburys is 7 miles away - is it worth making the journey?
A lot of cars do about a mile for around 8-10p, so if you'd save over £1.50 then yep (if the driving time doesn't bother you):beer:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I absolutely know if I get very I'll again I want out. I wanted out last time for a while. The thing with a plan is it can be easier in those who want you to stay but whose life risks being as bad or worse than yours. With a plan I can protect them. Depression can be as damaging to a person as other physical illness I'd guess and certainly think its sad that some one should find themselves choosing that in the case of illness than can and might well improve, but I think it should be their right. Suicide any other way must be much harder on all concerned.0 -
wonder if doozer or someone else can help? we want to build a front porch but I am getting a bit confused. We are a semi-detached at the end of a row of semi's. So we have a public footpath on one of our sides.
Would we be able to build the porch under permitted regs or would we have to apply?
We can't do anything on our right hand side (I wanted a kitchen lean-to utility bit) because that faces the public footpath and we'd have to get PP.0 -

The problem is that you don't know if you would change your mind if you knew what life would be like on recovery.

Does it matter if we might have chosen differently to our plan? We make the same decision with pets already. I believe if we have souls they do too. I'm of the opinion we are all animals. The important thing for me is keeping things easier, simpler.
Fwiw it's one of the things Dh and I feel differently about. Not the soul thing, eg I'm certain the pts for pets will always have to be my decision, and he is uncomfortable with my comfort with ending on a "plan". But it has been discussed. I even considered writing a letter to future wife to wish her happiness and a relationship at least as good as ours but apparently that's weird and off putting not comforting. So I didn,t0
