I always shop in Tesco. Sainsbury's have just sent vouchers that Tesco no longer accept.
12p off fuel with a £60 shop and then the next week £12 off a £60 spend.
Sainsburys is 7 miles away - is it worth making the journey?
7x2=14 miles at a guessed 20p/mile fuel cost = £2.80 spent
£2 up.0 -
My defence - you have no body, so no evidence of murder, so I'm not quilty of a murder that may not have been committed.
You're being elusive..... £1 says you did it....0 -
As for me, I'm dateblind. Tell me today's date and ask me what Tuesday's date will be- I'd need to get a diary out.
So that's.... 8th .... Sunday today .... so Monday, Tuesday.... must be the 10th.0 -

Well, I do mention which of our single friends are good with the pets, but really, I think it should be up to Dh to sort that out, I'd hate it if he'd picked someone out for me......though wouldn't mind if he'd left suitable friends a message to look in on me, see I was ok.
saatchi was nigella lawson's first husbands close friend I think ? , I think he was aware they might hit it off after he died.....or something like that0 -
I'll understand I might get hounded off the thread for saying this but I'd have thought that if there was a list of diseases where voluntary euthanasia would be acceptable, then depression would be one of the last conditions anyone could legitimately allow to be on it.
And pre-stating that they will agree to it while they're mentally sound doesn't legitimise it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I sort of agree.....in that depression for many predispose them to the want, while they still have likelihood of total remission, but I am conflicted, because I genuinely feel we should have our own choice. And I do mean our choice, not families or medical opinion.....bed clearing :eek:0 -

I think the problem is that depression takes away the choice, and not in any way that anyone can negate either by time-shifting the decision to an earlier date or allocating it to a non-sufferer who might benefit from a decision.
Whether we feel depression should be allowed to take away someone's decision-making powers is irrelevant, it simply does it.
It leaves behind something that looks like the ability to make decisions, in that the person can vocalise their decision and their justification for it. And that could lead to all sorts of gruesome situations. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Again I agree mostly. I feel uncomfortable about the absolute nature , which obviously has to exist for laws etc. e.g. If some one told me someone who'd been fighting depression for two years And wanted to be euthanised I'd be more personall6 shocked t the prospect than someone who,d had depression for 20 years with little or no break. I can!t really say how I,d feel not being in the position but if I were moved to suicide regularly, multiple times a year every year For two dozen years i can,t help thinking I,d want a clean planned way out over a harder one....
But I do agree with what you say in my most part
Edit, but that more gruesome than planned death with support must be slow, repeated attempt and eventual succes alone, in pain and often by method traumatising to the individual and others...family, bystanders etc. I think the latter is as gruesome as the idea of bed leading euthanasia.0 -
There have been times when doing my timesheets at work that I have checked my emails to/from my mates to find out which days I had been in the office....neverdespairgirl wrote: »First thing I'd do is ring up Chambers and find out what was in my diary for that day - once I knew I'd done X case at Y court, it would be easy to remember the rest of the day, I reckon?
You could use weather / TV listings / radio etc as a clue, or look at your postings here on the NP thread to remind you (-:I think....0
