Same thing happens in Ther European parliament, those who take part are going to be those who spport the concept and, hey, they find everyone they meet also supports it so anyone who doesn't is clearly a small minded bigot...
How do Farage, Talking Head Hannon and other Tory Eurosceptics fit into that?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Well, I was involved in complex fraud investigations, it's pretty rare that you get a case of mistaken identity in those situations. If we charged someone it was because there was overwhelming evidence against them. Borderline cases were not pursued.
I did get rather bizarrely accused of assaulting someone whilst I was at university, I managed to prove my innocence pretty easily at the time as I was 100 miles away staying with my then girlfriend at her university and had signed in to her halls of residence as a guest.0 -

In my day, that wouldn't have been allowed. Guests had to sneak in through the fire door.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Random question. Listening on the news about power cuts in Scotland and wondered if those with solar panels can use them in a power cut. I would guess that it should be possible, but then wondered how that works. If you are generating your own power, you should be able to use it, but what happens when its cloudy? If the power input is low, does your washing machine spin slowly, your lights dim etc?
and do you still get the FITs?
No, and no. The inverters are designed to shut down completely if the grid goes down. Otherwise they would be feeding power into the grid, which would get stepped up to some insanely high voltage as it went backwards through the substations, and then fry the poor bloke trying to fix the problem. The only way you can use your own generating capability (whether it's solar or wind or whatever) in a power cut is if it's not designed to connect to the grid at all.Good question. LydiaJ is hot on this and she will know
Glad to know you still think I'm hot!
PS I got my first FiT cheque the other day - a tad over £300.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
