headlines:
Murderer befriended victim on internet: police warn of dangers of meeting people online. Other members of the virtual group, who styled themselves "nice people", commented on how friendly the murderer appeared. The murderer even claimed to have many interests in common with the victim, bizzarly including a dislike of mushrooms. Police are still trying to decode the meaning of this.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I would reserve judgement until after tomorrow eve.
Anyway, I'm not coming. Its a bit like seeing the film after reading the book, you all may not turn out to be how I imagine you.
Plus I'm shy with new people. Plus OH wouldn't understand NP (the concept, not the people).I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. actually, I'm not necessarily opposed to it being at my house (dh is not so gung ho), but not sure incase we inadvertantly invite he with the umbrella.
It's OK, he was proved to have a perfectly irrational explanation :A: http://video.nytimes.com/video/2011/11/21/opinion/100000001183275/the-umbrella-man.html0 -
We have had summer parties for more than this number, but the garden makes that easy. The boys have had bigger parties (I think 200 was the max!) but banned everyone from the house and kept people in the garden and summer house; but then they didn't need to offer food.
Absolutely. Summer parties are easy. We have one every year which runs to 50ish. The only time I've done a large one in winter was last year (my 40th) and we hired a marquee and heaters to add on to the back of the house. That way we could "extend" the kitchen.
Don't think I'd ever try 200 mind. I'm not a caterer!lostinrates wrote: »maybe silvercar should host a meetup

I'd strongly advise that first meetings should always be in a neutral venue. A pub or a restaurant etc. Whilst I'm not sure any "real nutters" would actually turn up to a mass meet you can never be sure. Nutters are unpredictable.0 -

I think you are right. But I've had a few mse'ers to my home and been to I think three others homes now. I think on a greater scale of numbers it would be inadvisable to do it at anyones home.....inevitably arranging would oen the net to someone someone else felt uncomfortable with even if others are fine with them.0 -
Would that be like cluedo?
Mrs LIR in the stable with a tractor part.
