Ah, missed it first time. It's bonkers. Whenever I play anything like that for real, I get told by DH to only play one tune at a time. And he's younger than me. Bah Humbug! Still, he's not here at the moment, so I cranked it up:p.

Glad somebody else liked it as well! It made my day and another poster, globalds deserved the credit for finding it. :D:j

I'm getting so old - not sure I would even have recognised the beyonce tune if it didn't say - still we do have Kiss on in the car - what radio stations do other NP listen to?

And did any NPs get cheered up by the tune I posted?
    I think....

Just out of interest if you had had the choice between good state and independent which would you have chosen?

AS you know despite my DW sharing characteristics with your eldest brother's wife I very strongly agree with brother no 2's wife but luckily we have reached a compromise using your strategy - I guess locally you pay about 20% extra to be be excellent as opposed to above average catchment but you could pay 50% less within 10 miles if you really didn't care but then if you went private you would still have the neighbours to think about.

I try not to think about it, TBH. DS's best friend was removed from their primary school (which is quite a good one by normal standards) because of bullying, and has now been at an independent school for 4 terms. When I see the change in his confidence, and the way he's acquired a sort of "polish" that I can't quite put my finger on, I feel slightly sad that independent education is yet another of the advantages I had that I can't give my kids. (Although not as important as the stable two parents-who-love-each-other-and-stay-alive upbringing.) I'd have to be earning shedloads before I considered it was worth the colossal amount of money that it is nowadays, though. It was much more worth it at the prices of 30 years ago when I was at school. Also, I wouldn't want to send my kids anywhere that had Saturday school, which the better independents do in my town.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I have six presets on mine. Capital is my station of choice, Kiss (weekends), Radio 4 (I like to listen to the news), Heart (DH's choice), some local station that I can't remember the name of in case I need very specific local news and one free preset.

I hate Radio 1, so if I'm travelling I tend to look for Capital or Heart sister stations (the former if I can find them).

It also pays to be a voter and let the govt (local and national) know where you stand - I take it that all NPs vote regularly? Or is that a dividing issue?

Always. Local and national. I also get a postal vote if I know I'm going to be away. One of the libraries I have worked in is used by the local councillor as a surgery on a regular basis. It's interesting, you get to have a sense of what the problems are locally as people are more open in discussing them when he's in and it feels a bit like democracy in action.

I remember going to the KissFM launch party in a park in Islington in 1990. :D
I listen to XFM (an indie music station) and Radio 4.
However I've got an adapter for my ipod to play through my car's cassette player and once it's in, it stays in. If I ever remove it, it takes about half an hour of fiddling to get it working again!

When I'm driving to Scotland I have to tune into Radio 1 until I get there and tune into RealRadio. Actually I can pick Realradio up at the halfway point around Manchester, too.

    One of each :)

Elder getting a place at the excellent state grammar school gave us the option of sending younger private. If we couldn't have afforded to do that for one child we would have been in a real quandary as elder also got a place in a very decent state school that has a sibling policy. So by choosing to send him to the state grammar, we risked younger not getting a place in a decent state school at all.

I always listened to Capital in London. When we moved away, I found a sister station. I used to win competitions pretty often but the playlist was so small it wound me up. So I defected to Radio1. Now I listen to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 as well. H listens to Talk Sport I cannot bear the associated noise of MW and hate it when he retunes my car.

Reminds me of my friend's story of being briefly child-free playing something cool at full volume with the windows open, and the track changing to something like "three little monkeys" as she pulled into the gym car park. I've often done full car journeys alone listening to Lazytown, The Album.

Did you see Michael McIntyre's Christmas special (can't remember the actual name)? It was very funny and was saying something very similar. He also did a very funny version of the Shane McGowan and Kirsty McColl song with Pixie Lott.

Us too. It's complicated. I think children can suit particular schools. I suspect that our children will always go to different schools from this year on, but they both still have a move to make.
