Merry Christmas everyone. I know its hard to have a good one if you've lost family members, or are ill, but I hope its as good as it can be and goes off without hitches or arguments. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Merry Christmas to all posters and lurkers.
Noticed the shops weren't as bustling as usual (even Oxford Street was calmer than most years) and some shops are getting the sales notices ready for an 8AM start on Boxing Day. I can't imagine anything worse! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Merry Christmas to all the nice peeps, lurkers and my "fibre tree" friend

So, here I sit .... the world's most eligible woman .... alone and home well before 9pm.
Not many people out on the roads tonight.
Visited the old earlier.... old wasn't even awake and wouldn't waken, just curled up in a strange gnarly ball in bed with odd noisy breathing. So we ticked the stuff they'd want for Xmas dinner on those slips you get in the H places.... and left after an hour. Not going tomorrow, the old will never know., so no point dragging all the way over there to sit and stare at a sleeping person, or even an awake person that's talking nonsense.
I have no tree, no decs, there are no presents, there's not even any Xmassy food here... I think I've got 2 slices of bread in the freezer and some cheap cheddar to put on it, so I won't bother trying to feel jolly about that. At least I won't be putting on weight.0 -
merry christmas from us too.
because we're impatient St Nick dropped in today...he normally visits us Christmas eve, and we have wrapping paper all over the show and bellies swollen from fizzy pop (which we don't drink often and swell up like helium ballons when we drink...specially when we also have pasta!) And are nibbling on a slice of panforte now.Our christmas gift to each other ( the pear trees) are all planted and tomorrow we are having a SLEEP IN. Lunch tomorrow should be easy peasy now, just a mattr of laying the table and keeping an eye on the clock.
Hilariously, dh and I both had been to luch for each other, and bought exactly the same stuff, so now there is an electric heater in the bathroom...shh...don't tell on us...so we can indulge in a warm bath in a warm room and nice smells and (because I'm not drinking today) maybe another glass of fizzy pop.
Might not be exciting but by goodness its nice.0 -
Hey PN - I still envy you. We are using the NORAD santa tracker to frighten the kids in to getting in to bed quickly as there is still present wrapping to do.
However in one area we have taken the lead - we have now had 'christmas dinner' - they had reduced the turkeys by so much in Morrisons it would have been rude not to so our £5 (from 45) luxury stuffed turkey crown went down very well this evening - not sure how much we are going to feel like turkey dinners Tomorrow and Monday but hey ho...
Is your sibling with you this evening PN? How is the 'new' place - warm, secure and a decent internet connection and time to get on with things - like I said I do envy you.I think....0 -

Hmm - I wonder what he gave you as an early present in stockings?! According to NORAD he is in Romania now.I think....0

Both siblings are around for the next week. We were all together earlier for the H visit and a food round up to see what's for dinner.
New place is too warm... by 'eck I've never known heating like it!! If I wash thick jeans/huge long jumpers they dry in 3 hours over the radiator!!! And that's on for 5 hours/day. What I actually do now is turn the rad on for 2 hours, then I am overwhelmed and I turn it off0
