Happy Christmas to all the NP from me too.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OK - present wrapping marathon over - shame I am too MSE to buy ready made present bags as wrapping the difficult stuff like clothes and bots does not come easy to a guy...And I see from Norad I am just in time with the stockings as Santa recently dropped in on London and then for some reason Ely before heading on to Wales...

Kids don't normally wake till after 7 and then as we have to make church by 9.30 and then on to my sis for lunch I suspect presents other than stockings will have to wait until we get back in the evening. I mentioned to the DDs re charging their DSs for the trip but I suspect they won't have done :( Camera and camcorder seem to be charged for us and car has had petrol and air in the tyres so hopefully we are good to go. I'm off upstairs in the hope of persauding DW to give me an early Christmas present :)

Merry Christmas to all the NP.

I remember the days of the boys (apart from youngest who has always disliked Christmas) running into our bedroom at silly 'o' clock on Christmas morning.

Now, I have to set an alarm to make sure they are up in time for us to get to my parents for 10.30.

Cake now out of oven, will be icing it in the morning....strangely, I feel wide awake.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

awwww......enjoy the dinner. They staying over at yours?
No, it was another great plan that went t1ts up... we acquired the adjoining house to my old's for a week .... thinking the old would be at home and it'd be handy. In the event, the old's a 40 mile round trip from their own home so it's all a bit bizarre.

    :)

It does give us chance to keep popping into the old's to sort stuff out though (mail, calls to be made, decluttering etc).

Well that is 100 mince pies done
I can't imagine what 100 mince pies even looks like! When I was a kid, we'd go to gran's on boxing day, as would all my aunts/uncles/aunts.... all squeezed into a little house there were 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 6 uncles/aunts, 3 of us kids, 9 cousins, 1 cousin's partner and their 2 kids. So 25 of us, plus random drop by callers (my grandmother's brothers/wives I think).... and I don't recall 100 mince pies :)

My BIL randomly announced mince pies were required, so was going to the shop to buy a pack and said "is anybody else having any?" and I said "nobody likes mince pies...." and even the BIL realised they weren't needed and just one of those things you feel you should buy. No mince pies were, therefore, purchased.

As far as I am concerned Mince Pies come in a box from Sainsburys and taste no different from home baked (with less chance of having gone wrong/been burned etc). I agree they are not really needed on xmas day itself cos there are plenty of other things to eat.

Will you go to the beach today PN? I wish we could.

Can't believe there is no Sunday Times today! I don't know why it surprised me so much but I thought weekly papers would have to be produced.

We are up early, courtesy of jet lag. Boys still asleep. A bit of a role reversal here: youngest went clubbing last night:mad: with brother's ID:mad: ; elder, who is the party animal normally, was studying!

Out to dinner with friends last night. Don't really do Xmas, other than opportunity to get together with family but for various reasons won't be seeing them all til new year, so lots of arrangements with friends over the next few days.

Still chanukah :) agreement with hubby that no presents for each other as the holiday was so, so expensive. The holiday was our silver wedding anniversary treat, so justified -ish.

I make the mince pies as my parents have so many visitors over the Christmas holidays....last year, I had to make a second batch!

Apparently, mine are better than the shop bought ones.......

You can't beat home made baking or cooking with shop bought stuff.

I made chicken, rice and a lemon sauce last night and it was way better than what you get from the Chinese or a cook in sauce...

1 lemon, extra lemon juice, 1 egg and sugar. Awesome and cheap to do :money:

Gratz on silver wedding anniversary. I hadn't spotted that.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
