You need to put one of these on your Xmas list: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003IMPPJ8 - you can get bigger variations too. Cheap as chips. Ideal stocking filler for the girl who has everything ... except you've not got one of theselostinrates wrote: »Feeling colder today...anyone else?
We've almost got the stuf in order for the builders tomorrow. I'm going to take lots of pictures in the morning. I measured the furniture with y arms and a couple of badmington thingies this morning and I think the furniture WILL fit in the new room, but not in a particularly preposessing way. (along the same wall, making a narrow room narrower and a bit unbalanced.) So, in some time will be looking for a long and very narrow dining table!
I got one years ago and I LOVE it..... I measure everything... crazy stuff .... I love measuring things.0 -
GRGGHGHHHHH...can't get the new coffee machine to work. spent loads of money, wasted loads of time and not a single good espresso yet.

I can recommend AlCafe Rich Roast instant coffee granules from Aldi. £1.39 for a 200g jar. It's a lovely taste. Coffee, but not bitter ....GRGGHGHHHHH...can't get the new coffee machine to work. spent loads of money, wasted loads of time and not a single good espresso yet.

That says £1.45, but it's reduced at the moment.0 -
Just got back from a day out to Brighton, cut a bit short because DH wasn't feeling great again. However we did get to the Choccywoccydoodah cafe and were seated in the boudoir (choccywoccyboudoir?). I had the most wonderful blow your head off espresso with a big dollop of vanilla ice cream in it. It was yummy. Was thinking of you on the way down missk. Hope you are feeling better this afternoon. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? A new Expresso machine, needs a full tank of water run through it 4 or 5 times.
Make sure the water has heated properly before starting.
After that run 1 or 2 cups through it before you start.
Make sure it is hot.
Make sure all the bits n bobs are hot.
Use a proper Expresso coffee.
Make sure it is tramped down well.
Make sure the cup is warm before use.
Press "play"
P.S. Don't bother with Coffee pods. Also make sure you are using the correct coffee filter, if you use a pod one with real coffee, or visa versa it won't work properly.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
Thanks purch, think the problem is the portafilter. I can get something to run through with the pod filter but not the normal filter. Think that one is blocked.
Amazon have just got me to pack it up and send it back and will send me out a new one. Really disappointed as bought really top rated one and it didn't work out of the box.0 -
No plans for that - currently I think they would be pretty upset not to be sharing as it is what they have always known, although they are two school years apart there is only about 18 months between them. May be when they are bigger they will want their own rooms but we would then be stuck with someone having to have the box room (10x7) or the guest room being the box room and one of the kids having an ensuite which would not be fair either....unless we have enough money to do the loft room.
The new family bathroom has two basins and I can not recomend this highly enough - even with 3 other bathrooms it is still much more convenient having two so one perosn can be doing teeth whilst another is washing hands or whatever.vivatifosi wrote: »Will the DDs get a room each once the house is finished michaels?I think....0 -
Could easily be a manufacturing fault. The holes are extremely tiny as the coffee is pressed through at such a high pressure, so to the naked eye you can't really tell if they are there or not.
On the other Q, I have pretty soft water where I live, but when I lived in the London area I always used Brita filtered water in a machine and had no scale problems.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

How old are your DDs, michaels? You may have told us, but I'm afraid my memory's not very good at remembering numbers.
I suspect they will want rooms of their own when they reach their teens, if not before. It might be worth thinking ahead about whether you are still likely to be in this house at that stage, and what you will do. Although of course they may want to carry on sharing indefinitely. Kids are all different.
My two have never liked sharing ever since we first tried to move DD out of our room into DS's room when DD was 6 months old and DS was three and a half. Every time she cried, even slightly, DS woke up, left the room, and flatly refused to go back to bed until DD was asleep and quiet again. :rotfl:
In my house, DD has the second bedroom (12'x9'8"), DS has the third one (9'5"x8'11"), and the spare room is the fourth and final bedroom (but at 9'5"x8'6" it's a little bigger than a mere box room).
I'm going to have to clear some of the boxes of stuff out of the spare room soon, though. I'm glad to say my dad has agreed to come and spend Christmas with me and my kids.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
