With all the gardening, you're probably healthier than the doctor.

I'm not as 'fit' as the nurse who took the samples, though!:rotfl:

I tried doing some christmas shopping yesterday. Aside from my mum, I have no idea what to get anyone. What a waste of half a day! I saw nothing. No inspiration, no ideas, no good stuff. I think I might cancel christmas this year...

I swear I'm missing the part of the brain that chooses gifts. Empty . Nada.
I get round it by buying experiences, trips. Red Letter Day was a godsend. as is Hawkin's Bazaar which now has a chain of stores.

A speedy recovery from whatever it is, Jelly.....:)

Speaking of ilnesses, I rang the doctors' yesterday as they'd not rung me with the results of my last personal MoT.

"Why have I not heard?" I asked.

"Oh, it's all normal." said a bored voice. "Chloresterol - normal, no action, liver & kidney - normal, no action, haemoglobin, viscosity, normal...blah, blah..."

"Hang on," I said, "what do you mean 'normal?' Which end of 'normal?' I mean, everything has levels these days.....No warning signs? Advisory comments?"

"No, that's all there is. You're just normal for everything. So, no action. Doctor doesn't need to see you."

Huh, even the car gets more than that! For example, I know a little bit of emergency welding is all that lies between me and a new catalytic converter. At my old doctor's they used to do a really detailed thing, breaking your chloresterol down into different components. etc.

I s'pose it's the cuts. In ten years time it'll probably be, "You seem to be breathing and moving about, you know what day of the week it is, and you can do 7x8, so you're fine!" :(

Just ask for a photocopy of the blood test results. My surgery charges 10p a page for copies, when they remember, but they'll fax the results to me for nothing. No, I haven't worked out why fax is cheaper, either. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thanks for the good wishes folks.:)

Helpful suggestions lir. Brother/sil may be sorted, after I've exchanged a few emails...
nephews, they have too many toys (honestly). I'm thinking some classic childrens films. Perhaps the toy story or shrek collections and the like.
    dad - no idea still.
Space nk is in harvey nicholls. explains why I'm not aware of this shop.:o I have been advised that men should not attempt to buy jewellery.

With the 3 mates, I do know their tastes. I suppose we always seem to get each other books or cd's, & I'd like to get them something different to the norm if possible.

Davesnave - excellent news there pal!:T:j

michaels, I agree, really I need to know what I'm going to get in advance, & then I can just go & fetch it. Trouble is, this year I appear to be really struggling. I do like to wander around shops to investigate.

On the book vouchers thing, i did recieve vouchers as a kid. To be honest, I think I'd have preferred cash to vouchers. However an amazon voucher may be a better option. I have been lucky in recent years. I email a list of books I like to my brother, & he orders a selection of these for birthday/christmas.
