One day Mrs. Wheezy was having a moan about how difficult it was to get a pressie for me. I told her if she didn't know what to get she had to google it, which she did by googling "present for old man" or something like that.
One of the first results that came up was an inflatable zimmer frame :rotfl: We laughed for a long time.

Oh, that's a great idea! I'll be happy to organise one if people want to play.

Just done the one at work today.

I think it could be a ruddy nightmare to organise. Personally this year I'm not in as I just can't guarantee buying and posting something in time this year.

My family are of the kind that don't mind being asked what they want. Makes things easier, especially if it's available online, which most of it is. I have one friend who's DS's godmother. She's just sent an email saying (a) that she wants suggestions for presents for DS, DD and me, and (b) she is not doing any offline Christmas shopping this year, and to bear that in mind when making suggestions. DS has decided he wants to have an Amazon wish list. Most of it is lego, and some of it is very expensive, although I made him put some cheaper things on too. I've just decided it might be a good idea to inform godparents (who all know each other) that they can club together for one of the bigger presents if that suits.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'n not sure.:( They're supposed to be anonymous, right? Well, the first year we did it at school I actually believed there would be no way to guess the donor. action-smiley-015.gif

Sooooo, when I drew the name of an atrractive but rather stuffy young Year 4 teacher, I knew what it had to be....:D

But the ladies on the staff used deductive reasoning way beyond higher maths to work out who'd given what to whom, and especially the name of the pervert who'd sent the prim young lady a most inappropriate item.....:o:o:o

Years later, after half a career somewhere else, the now not-so-young lady returned and, for a while, became acting Head. She obviously held no grudges, as it was her who gave the even older pervert his last (temporary) contract. :A

And would it entail giving our RL contact details to missk to give to some random member of the NPT? I'm not sure that's terribly wise.

We've got one at work this year. The person organising it used a website that sent each of us an email saying it was from one of Santa's elves, and specifying who we were to buy for. Fortunately I found fairly easy to buy for - with a limit of £5.

DH has secret santas with a buget of a fiver at work. I always suggest 5 scratch cards, because he barely knos the person uually...but he usually won't because he says t he jealousy would kill him if one was a big winning prize. so while the ''big earners'' are spending £5 on one gift the support staff are better supported junior staf have to gift £50 quid, then the next jump is £250 quid (more than we'd usually gift each other!) don't know how high it gets as you go up the ranks..or if the partners give nothing hence the solicitors being landed with a big contribution. DH's scretary works for five different people and must have had over £1k from them directly plus a month' salary as bonus last year. Good for her.
