To be fair, the person that I am now is not the person I was as a child. Certainly as a teenager, I was a bit of a blue stocking + very quiet, shy and serious. Always studying and never shopping or partying. I changed when I went to uni.

I wonder if other women identify with having periods of life when they were and were not girly.
I've had my hair done twice since we moves, but having it done this week. It looks a mess, and my nails are ragged atm too. there are times in my life I would have looked at someone in the state I'm in ATM and sadly shook my head.0 -

Not wearing trapdoor oneseys I can't guarantee any of that though.
I did find out while looking for that picture there are garments of simalar names, for the same sort of region for a different purpose. Which I also have no personal experience of. That I can remember.
Oh, just flicked on the tv and the ad was on.

Life is a loyalty card.
OH has just gone to take his car for a clean, and I shout after him, "Don't forget the loyalty card."
I have loyalty cards for Tesco, Nectar, M&S, independant car cleaners, costa, nero, boots, holland & Barratt, wickes, body shop, M&S b'day cards.
The latter 4 were taken once and haven't been used again.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Well, I can reach there. There are times I can't reach anywhere these days. Much better than things have been in the past.
The physio who made great progress with me but who was a bigot asked me to stop yoga. I still wonder if that really helped or whether its the worst mistake of my life. Although my muscles are generally more responsive these days (what happens when it goes wrong is like a nerve firing problem, the muscles don't ''turn off'' and stay hard and tense when they are bad) they are also less flexible. There are places on my body I can't reach, but those bottuns aren't so differently placed, for example, as putitng a belt through loops on trousers.
In much the same way as I think men probably wonder how we manage hooks and eyes behind our backs a bit higher up.

lir, out of interest have you tried pilates? A colleague of mine at work who has MS swears by it. She says the range of mobility she gets after a session is amazing. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

well....I have a pilates video or dvd ....but....while I think its an excellent exercise, its just not for me in the way yoga is..yoga answers a need in my heart than pilates doesn't...although they are the same ''sort'' of thing physically, slow controlled, gentle.....
My symptoms are worse in winter I think, so I'm trying to get into the discipline of making sure I do non necessary exercise atm in routine...where its more about me not hauling stuff about the place for animals.
I might try the pilates dvd this week: I need to get into a decent rotation of stuff. I want to build up to the tracey anderson dvd I love....and which is all withing physical ability...just not necessarily all at the same time. atm I can get through the arm sections, then the abs section but then can't do the legs bit.
what I really want is to get strong enough and build up more endurance to do some proper light cardio stuff, because thats what I really need most pressingly, but also what is hardest for me.0 -
Hmm - we tend to make sure DDs always wear a skirt or shorts over leggings whatever state the leggings are in - without leggings on young girls are not very lady-like or flattering and dare I say it a bit chavy (said in a jokey way as I feel you have been a bit more 'questioned' in public this afternoon than is strictly nice).Didn't have enough screen resolution to see very clearly on the youtube clip you posted, but think I see what you mean. Unfortunate pockets, as suspected, I think. Meanwhile I wish the manufacturers of little girls' leggings would make them of thicker material. This would mean that they would last a little longer, and also that their underwear wouldn't be visible through the leggings. Must find something for DD to wear - either some alternative bottoms or else some shorts or a skirt to wear over the leggings.
Look back a page or so for youtube clips of Keira Knightley on a Ducati.
Just a friendly exchange of opinions. This is the NPT - what else would you expect?
I don't suppose she would have too much trouble finding someone willing to assist

We went to my not very favourite Tesco (at sains you don't normally get told to f-off in the carpark because you are waiting for a space to come free) this afternoon mostly to get a cheap steam-iron (super dooper steam generator has stopped working properly and Sains no longer stock it so only offered a refund and as it was bought at 70% off it will now need to go to Bosch for repair) but I had to first check hot uk deals for any specials, print out a couple of vouches and wander round the shop buying things with extra points or money off vouchers sent by clubcard.Life is a loyalty card.

In an ideal world, I agree with you. However, she's growing so fast at the moment that I'm in a phase of being glad if there's anything available that fits and doesn't need washing!Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

growing might be part of the problem, obviously the more the material is stretched the thinner it becomes. Soon out side should be too cold for leggings any way....I think.
the weather is posing me problems. we STILL have more grass in our summer/autumn grazing, but if its to stand a chance of being productive next year I should rest it soon. If winter goes on long then I'll regret not grazing it right down now though. I make a small amount of profit on hay, and the longer the bloddy growing season lasts the less hay we'll get through
OTOH I've seena very nice baby horse and have enough hay to feed her along with our lot and think she'd be a good resale prospect...but have said I didn't want to get back into that game...its harder to say good bye nowadays. If I bought her through the business account and held onto her for two/three years she'd not cost me too much and I'd expect to make (time and effort and running costs removed) my money back at least two fold, maybe fourfold.....can't decide what to do..... 0
