Ah yes, the buttons on the back of Keira's all-in-one suit. I hadn't recognised that those were little kegs.

Can anyone explain the connection with perfume, except the obvious one that the all-in-one suit would be rather sweaty, so she'd better pour loads of perfume on to cover up the unpleasant odours?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I so would have liked at least one daughter.

Not that I don't enjoy boy conversations with the boys, but there are definitely some things I miss out on.

I don't know. You might have had an uncommunicative daughter, or one who for what ever reason had a strained relationship with you..I think often girls make for more difficult teen years don't they?

You might one day get granddaughters to whom you are really close :) I think extended family isn't given enough importance these days. Both my parents were at least as heavily influenced and both felt closer to their grandparents rather than parents, I don't feel that at all.

I really wanted a son. We're very heavily weighted towards girls in my immeadiate family and I've always thought a boy would even it up a bit and get a bit of a better deal. but I love having neices, wish I were closer to them still, and a little girl like lydia's noone could deny would be wonderful.

I'll be honest...I sometimes wonder how we manage it. We all have rather different opinions on things held dear to us. I am staggared at how we don't argue worse and more often. I know nice people who would be less nice than you have been today. I am genuinely honoured to know you, because you are exceptionally nice.

Yes, she is, isn't she? Patient, too.

the buttons are buttons...by kegs I meant trousers, kecks, slacks, strides.....

but I think they look like this:

I love perfume ads, they are beautiful little bits of commercial art. But actually I think this one leaves me cold, for more than one reason

I think it helps that we have the rest of the board as a constant reminder of the pointlessness of internet arguments, and the name of the thread to remind us that if we want to argue we need to take it outside.

    Thank you. :)

Actually, that's related to one of the fond memories I have of LNE. He absolutely hated it when people (usually women) tried to deflect or deny a compliment "oh, no, not really, I'm not". When we were students, he used to tell off his all his female friends (including me) for that kind of thing, explain that we should just smile and say thank you, and then repeat the compliment as many times as it took for us to accept it gracefully. A useful social skill for lots of us. :D

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Ah, you're right. That's the explanation. It's a big team shooting that ad, so they couldn't waste time waiting for Keira to take the whole suit off if she needed a pee.

    l.

You're right. I wasn't a girlie girl and I don't remember many conversations with my Mum.

My eldest niece says she should have been born into my family not hers, as she would have got a better deal with me as a Mum. I remind her that me as a doting aunt is different to how I would be as her Mum.

When I tell the boys some specific requirements for their future, I include the requirement to give me princess granddaughters. Helps to lighten the tone of what is sometimes a serious message.

Unless that is shown back to front, how would she pee through it?

I don't know why, but that's really not my impression of you silvercar. It could be something as vague as references to "gels", but I think its more than that. What an interesting surprise.

Well....gravity wouldn't help much if it were at the front. I think the idea would be that with, um, the rotation of the body in the standard position fo that activity, what is behind would stretch to also being below, then gravity would help and all would function ok.

Not wearing trapdoor oneseys I can't guarantee any of that though.

I did find out while looking for that picture there are garments of simalar names, for the same sort of region for a different purpose. Which I also have no personal experience of. That I can remember.

Oh, just flicked on the tv and the ad was on.
