It could be worse, you could be up in Cairns where you'd be dripping in sweat with the humidity. Mind you, at least the (sea) water is warm there, unlike Sydney.
I've not been to Cairns; the closest I've been is Townsville.
I went to Darwin one time and Spurs (aka The Mighty Spurs) were playing Newcastle Utd (English Newcastle not Aussie Newcastle). I hooked up with a bunch of Geordies and drank more than was altogether sensible and then drank some more.
The next day I walked 500m(?) to the supermarket to buy brekkie. When I arrived I sat in a freezer and drank a litre of water. It's not that hot there (30C max most days) but it's stupidly humid.0 -
I don't think michaels meant that bush though...0

The Three Sisters is at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It's a lovely spot:
There are some lovely bush walks round there.
Does it nearly half remind you of the Tottingham tube station'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
The battery failed on the scary gas monster machine today, so I rang up E-on thinking it would take at least a few days to get sorted.....the engineer arrived one hour and 20 minutes later.
Well impressed!
Haven't turned the heating on yet though...but it is getting closer. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Sue...I'm presuming your mobility being worse means that you might feel the cold more this winter....can you consider the idea Tomterm suggested to me of an electric blanket where you sit most during the day/evening?
Any change of the three sister's bushes not stretching our screens? (I think thats politer than the way my mind wants to phrase it atm.)
Also, even old style are recommending kindles now. I think I should try and use one at some point. Why kindle not iPad though? does the Ipad do the same but more?0 -

If you're talking about a basic Kindle, there's a huge difference yes. Kindle just being a 'reader' while iPad is a full blown tablet PC.
Amazon launched (or will launch shortly) the Kindle Fire which is more like a tablet PC, I believe still lower specs than an iPad but priced around half of what an iPad costs.0 -
Broadly speaking, I would advise waiting a little bit, because the different makers are still announcing their Christmas deals. I think the basic kindle is the best one for reading books on the go, both of the tablet options (fire / ipad) are better for general media (video, internet, games that kind of thing)... they are OK to read from, but a bit bulky to carry about with you all the time.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

can kindle owners tell me how quickly the page turns are? I was thinking a bigger one might have more words on a page, or is it in pretend book page format?
I'm probably not going to get one for years, but I think its extablished I like to think about things for a LONG time before doing them sometimes! lol.0
