its the one that you can't help but find on medium wave. I hate radio 5. It might be on the net though? Do you have speakers again yet? oh...or digital tv....probably 705 I think on tv.

I used to love five live. I still listen to it a lot, but it ain't as good as it used to be.

    Nothing ever is.

House prices, cars, football, child care, language, education, cricket, manners, policing, politics have all gotten worse since I was a kid and as far as I can see it was thus since the time of Aristotle. Aristotle as a teacher used to moan about how his students weren't respectful.

My opinion is that the C21st rocks. Seriously it's amazing that I can discover the final score of the 1901 FA Cup final (won by the Mighty Spurs 3-1 on a replay BTW) in a few keystrokes.

Why would you want to go back any further than 1976?

Whoooosh! That totally and utterly lost me. Is it something to do with football, maybe? In which case, please don't bother to explain, as I won't understand. I can understand the fun in playing football, but watching it? I'd rather watch the washing machine.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Too true.

Regardless of time, working on saturdays still sucks though...

I agree with the wonders of technology, I just discovered that the first own goal benefitted the mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers:)
In the first year of the Football League, Wolves benefitted from the first own goal in the league's history, scored by Gershom Cox of Aston Villa.

I'm guessing that Gen was born in 1976?

Not trying to sound like I support a recently executed (no, I mean hastily butchered) dictator but some people did claim the one good thing Gadaffi did was abolish spectator sports on the grounds that sport was for doing, not watching. (Of course it also makes people assemble in massive numbers which might make a dictator nervous) ;)

That's because it's politically biased and always putting a spin on everything, especially with people like Nicky Campbell. It was great when he had to apologise to Guido Fawkes.

I see you're qoting the most classic line in soap TV history. It's the last ten seconds!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've not got round to hitting the kitchen fire place with the chisel and hammer yet....but am just about to plant roses that came in the post, and order pears to plant next week.

I love planting things....its so exciting.

I'm going to pleach the pears, and I'm a little worried about it, I tried to fan a peach tree this summer and we now call it the Edgar Allan Poe tree, such was the result. Pleaching will look beautiful where the pears are going, (its close to the house and I want to screen off a tractor track so I can be in my kitchen in the nuddy without scaring my neighbours) and conceal a little a rather ugly barn beyond, but not lose too much light. I keep reminding myself I need the light there, because it would be easier and less stressful to let them grow au naturel!

Riht, off to dig and plant my beautiful new roses. :)
