May be because she isn't so hot any more?!
I've just found the thermostat and am heating up again now.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
That's what i was wondering too.
LJ, why not ask lir if she minds you quoting some of the nice things she say's about you?
Only problem may be when you add at the end... Must be a Wolves fan! :rotfl::D
The perfect lady could support any team!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

OK, so I've caught up finally.
With all the talk about how people can be, has anyone watched the Derren Brown experiments? The last one was on how anonymity & crowds can influence behaviour. As it progressed it seemed very predictable, but there was a massive twist at the end!
I went & saw James at symphony hall last week. They had a choir & an orchestra with them. Reviews I've read seem to regard the show highly. It was very different to their normal shows, & they played a lot of their lesser known tracks.
I also went to Blackpool to see the illuminations.:) They've allegedly been scaled down. Was fine for me. Was really impressed with their comedy carpet: http://www.visitblackpool.com/attractions/comedy-carpet-blackpool-p651130
It is in front of the tower, & it is very big. Thing is, you look at it for ages, & whilst staring at all the jokes, you constantly hear people ringing out peals of laughter whilst reading out four candles, or the dead parrot sketch, or similar. Anyhows, a proper jelly thumbs up!:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
BTW my favourite:
what's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?

Grrr. really frustrating weekend...everytime we go to do something the blackberry goes. Poor dh felt awful having to ask someone in Brussels to work the bank holiday because he was stuck here and sadistic boss needed something prepped. He's doen all liasing between the two of them to soften the blow. He's working, but at least he's working HERE with a cat on his knee and me bringing him tea and a kiss through the day and spending nights together. Still annoyin not to get anything DONE.
But, what I have done, finally, is bought the testers for our first stab at a down stairs colour scheme. So I have paint covered hands and a5 cards of shades of mainly green every where. Apart from hallway, which the colours I've chosen I'm happy with and neither are green but have pleasingly sympatico names: Cabbage white and brassica. I like green. A lot. but none of the greens seem quite what I want them to be in situ.0 -

Does that mean that you might 'liberate' us, with all the death and destruction that involves? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

i'll just do 1/4 of the job - so i'll bomb the living daylights out of you, destroying your infrastructure etc, and then flounce off ten minutes later to leave you to clear up the mess, whilst i to make some hard hitting statements about UNESCO funding.0 -
chewmylegoff...does an adopted americanor half american have rights to an american passport of brough up by non US parents?
I had a similar attitude to my rights to American passport when I hit adulthood and I think it may have been the worst mistake ever. I should have gone for dual nationality (I was in a weird position as had rights to a choice of countries). While dh and I both actively chose uk and are anglophiles and I certainly feel more connected with here...have spent longer here now than not here, I just wonder if we'll feel differently in the future. Especially as at least one of my neices is set on US and the other not UK, and dh's family are in US so any nephews and neices he might have are there. We both feel prety comfortable with some US culture.......I never thought I'd consider it but I think now I possibly would....depending on where of course.0
