Oh michaels, that sucks. I know you're not stupid, so apologies if I keep thinking of stuff that makes you go "well DUH, of course I've already got those", but I hope that if we all think laterally for long enough someone will come up with something that at least makes your situation bearable. One last idea (I promise).... Could they get some cheap celotex insulation panels and some wooden battens and block the hole? I feel for you. Did the first bit get finished for August as planned or is this still it?Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

It is cold, but luckily its beautiful too.I woke up a lot in the night...when the hedgehogs escape they come upstairs to see me in the bedroom....its very disconcerting. What's funny is, when I went to bed I was shivering and put the electic blanket on and put todays clean yard clothes under the covers with me to be warm for this morning:o but when the hogs visited and I took them back down I just went in the birthday suit and was ok. Thismorning ofcourse, I was freezing again.
Most definately, problem is if he over heats, he also gets very violent, so we have to have the fans going full blast all summer and have lots of cold water play to try to keep him cool.
As an example, I was chilly last night but we still had to have the front room fan on and windows open because he was too hot...I think I prefer to be a little chilly than to have him in full aspergic rage mode, it is a lot less damaging to my health :rotfl:We made it! Re Ebay, I did my brother's wedding almost entirely from Ebay purchases, from flowers to cake toppings to walking stick decoration to table decoration.
The trick is to look for the bargain rather than just buying the first thing you see and of course, careful research on other sites to see if they may have some things cheaper...as it was, Ebay did the wedding pretty cheaply for us!

Sorry, didn't mean my reply to come across as 'of course I have already...' just a little busy at work plus a lot of my focus is at home. DS now seems completely better, cough and cold almost gone and breathing normal but we are sticking to the inhaler routine to be on the safe side. Knocked out wall just goes to new part which is fully glazed so it shouldn't be too draughty but one part does not yet have a floor so some of the air bricks are letting in a lot of cold - plus it is an extra 50 sqm of downstairs space and 1 electric rad so it is just cold.
Apparently they are getting a proper plumber in today (I looked at the manual and it appeared they had connected the filling loop to the flow side rather than the fill/drain off valve as instructed and I suspect this may have stopped them from bleed the boiler itself properly but I'm not (pretending to be) a plumber...to be fair to the guy who has been doing the plumbing, he seems to know how to joint/run pipes etc but just had no familiarity with this brand of boiler.vivatifosi wrote: »Oh michaels, that sucks. Is Disney on Ice quite the thing for teenage boys anyway - possibly your answer is already in your post.
A second possible answer is that in this weeks newsletter there is an offer of 5 free first capital connect tickets- not sure if they come out as far as you but they might get you half way for free?Re Ebay, I did my brother's wedding almost entirely from Ebay purchases, from flowers to cake toppings to walking stick decoration to table decoration.

Sue, Wembley's not "real London". Its quite easy to get to. Train travel is expensive, how about National Express then the tube out? Or if you are up to driving most of the way, drive to Stanmore (on M1, before end of motorway so you don't have to drive "into London" if that's your concern) and take the tube a couple of stops. The tube is cheap and the car park is about £3 from memory. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Actually I was more worried about coming across as a pushy stalker who was about to land up on your doorstep with a couple of rads in tow:o. Thanks for the suggestions, I could go up the A12 (easiest and fastest route to London for us) to a station we used to use when we were going to gigs back in the late 80's early 90's (if only I could remember what the blooming place was called!) and over land train/tube it in but the walking or standing around on top of the driving could begger me up completely and I don't really want to take the wheelchair (I doubt the tickets are wheelchair friendly)
Re teenage boys, I expect eldest won't be interested and he will probably be working but my youngest, although 13, is more emotionally at the age of an 8 year old and loves going on trains, especially after his foray into London on a school trip before the summer holidays. Middle son will just go along with things so that he is kept busy.
They also love Disney, we have been to Disneyland Paris three times and they would love to go again but alas, finances mean we cannot, so they may just take this as a closest best to it.We made it! Sue, if you park at Stanmore there is a ramp walkway access from the car park to the station, so you would be able to take your chair. There are also lifts at Wembley for you to get off. I would however phone ahead and check with Wembley re taking chair in. I know they have chair access viewing points and closer parking for blue badges (though I've taken mum and still had to pay for the parking). If you go in via A12, which I can see the attraction of, you'll probably have an hour on the tube and possibly changes. Stanmore is down A12, round M25, down M1 (not by much though) to Jct 4 and its about 5 mins off the motorway. Be warned though, it is a good 5-10 minute walk, sometimes more in crowds, from Wembley (Park?) tube to the arena and you have to take a long way round if you want a wheelchair friendly route. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
