Never actually been to Brick Lane, or been tempted to.

Unfortunately like many places it's changed over time, and is now more of a Tourist destination. I first started going there over 30 years ago, and continued going down there for lunch once a week, when I worked in the City. Then there were probaly no more than half a dozen Restaurants, now ther must be 30 or 40. I've been in many of them, but always liked the Nazrul, as I got to know the staff quite well. The last time I went there was over two years ago, and they treated me like a long lost friend. The don't serve booze, you can BYO, and they're plenty of Offies down the road.

Of course none of the Restaurants are Indian, as it's a Bangladesh community, but that goes for most of the 'Indian' restaurants in the UK

That's a thing that surprised me when I came south. Back in Glasgow the Indian restautrants are mainly punjabi and there were dishes like zalfrezis and tindaloos I never see down here, and the pakoras which were as ubiquitous as chips are replaced these tiny onion bhajias.

In one of my first bedsits in London I had a flatmate whose family were from Sylhet in Bangladesh and he wised me up on the standard "Indian" cooking down here.

When my wife lived in the US their Indian restaurants also seemed to be punjabi and more like what I was used to. The staff there used to moan that when Americans wanted spicy food they thought of Mexican first and last.

If anyone does know a good punjabi restaurant in London then please pass it on to me!

Why would a company ban Skype? Illogical.. Does not compute... Send people overseas then stop them calling home in one of the most cost-effective ways possible.

I dunno. But its blocked. Maybe the youngsters were skyping when they should have been working. all that other stuff of poke your face in the space and whatever aren't blocked.

The it guy said somehting about gmail being a possibilty so dh is trying to work that out but not getting anywhere but frustrated...I'm ok now because I'm in the new ''mind space'' of this is how it is, but dh is really feeling ...a bit adrift.

I really liked the second coming, and the sea horses as well (although not as much as the shire horses). Seemed that everyone else thought they were cack though!

Didn't really like their first wave of stuff, although made of stone is good.

Have discovered the joys of ebay recently.

Almost as stupidly addictive as this place. :)

Finding all sorts of things I really, really wanted in my younger years and fighting the urge to buy them.

Annoyingly, also finding all sorts of things I used to own in my childhood that got destroyed or thrown out, which would now be worth a fortune!!!
