one of my friends is obsessed with badgers and therefore i constantly get emails directing me to news stories about them attacking people and animals. this is the most extreme one - they were lucky it wasn't a honey badger...

They should have kept that one back for when they need to prosecute Badger baiters, you know introduce them to each other ;)

Got an awkward and moody old on my hands today ..... won't engage with anything, won't choose/decide on anything ... and things need to be moved on. But I can't bully the old, so we're at an impasse. I'm probably not being forgiven for moving out shortly .... and probably will be written out of the will because of it.... not that I care.

An old isn't like a child, you can't lay the law down, tell them that's how it is, choose for them, insist/demand and spank their bums..... so it's a whole new huge dose of annoyance to deal with.

Frustrating. All you can do is lay out the options and let them decide when they are ready. Maybe tell old to make a temporary choice and then the temporary becomes the base line to move away from if they don't like it.

  • Anyone else got Halloween weather tonight?

The wind is howling (it often does here!) and the sky has had no pretty sunset but a gradually darkening dirty grey. Its a deliciousy creepy evening.

Yup, it's howling up a nice storm here in Town.

  • I never find a house I even want..... even with unlimited money I've not seen one I'd actually buy if I'd had that much. The best locations have big houses - and I want a small one; the small houses are in the worst locations.

Money-no-object in Cornwall? Small houses? There are a few nice ones:

The film was about the history of the Tower, e.g. in WW2 you aircraft flying past your head, also it takes you out to sea with seagulls flying around you and the spray from the waves literally into your face (yes you get slightly damp). I guess shouldn't really be telling :o.

Old isn't choosing/deciding anything at all though .... and temporary choices aren't an option any more. They take weeks of discovering/exploring/viewing/considering .... and then the old doesn't like them. So there has to come a point when you realise they won't ever want any of the choices/options available to them, so you have to leave them be until they actually engage in the process. Old thinks that they can just keep moving the goalposts, just to keep me here .... well, no .... they just ran out of options.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
