I'm 37 ( still getting used to it!).
I don't own.
Been saving for years for a decent deposit. Got a decent one I continue adding to.
Waiting to take the plunge. One part of me does feel the housing market is likely to slip further.
The other issue is picking the area.
I suspect that part of me is a little hesitant to move alone. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

You are regurgitating the same old bear memes and fallacies again...(oops, sorry, wrong thread!)
When LIR finally sorts out a GF for you, you'll be wanting to settle down, buy your own place and make loads of jelly babies! Slipping or not. Good luck0 -

LJ isn't playing ball...or well, maybe he is, because nothings happening with women. I don't know if he took michaels up on his offer either.
I think LJ and Lydia should go out somewhere lovely and hunt together.Or if LJ were closer I could strong arm him into being my [plus one while dh is away, and do some icebreaking.
I've been reading the expat guide to Brussels that work sent me and I'm amazed to find that ther is a street in Brussels called the same thing as me, which is so rare I've never met another one of me. (I use an abbreviated form usually). I want to go and get a picture of the road sign. I actually want THE road sign.0 -
Off Topic I know but as we are on the discuss house prices board I was wondering how many of the nice people own their own house and indeed have bought it recently despite the threat of a price crash.
I'll go first, I bought my first house in 2001 and traded up in March last year.
i inherited a half a house in 2004, sold it in 2007 after a half-hearted renovation project (because i couldn't stand living with my sister anymore), and have refused to re-enter the market ever since.
my ideal home is a papier mache shack constructed entirely out of old copies of moneyweek magazine.0 -

Just because I act like a 6 year old all the time, doesn't mean I am actually 6!:pIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

To a great deal, I've wanted to settle for a while. I have had turbulence with the career stuff, but no major hindrances there.
It's a matter of finding "the special one" (or a bunch of average ones...;))It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
dh has been telling tales of the nasty boss today. he had to prepare some work, including summarising some stuff. It just so happened that someone else he knows v. well is the person who did this stuff and dh had a chat with him and the guy said...oh I have a summary of it I did, you can use it*: the sadist boss reponse to the summary ''well, this shows you barely read the thing and clearly didn't understand it'':rotfl::rotfl:
I think the chances of dh breaking down in tears are diminishing. Its hard to not be scared of office bullies until you have proof they are made up of mainly hot air and dissapointment.
* edited to add, the sadists boss's manner is renowned...this guy was hoping to give dh an A* out of friendship and because he hates people who behave like that too.0
