In that case, now get on with laying that concrete stable floor and save yourself £12k :A:D

    I really want to!

Ne ver done it, I'm guessing getting the falls (?) right for drainage is the skill.

I also need to think about block work. I'd quite like to do that ourselves but my dad said it would be a waste of money.

This is a really stupid question, but when a wall is built, foundations are dug, so should the blockwork be done before the slab?:o:o In that case may the floor could be done stable my table as we needed them.:o:o

After the slab I want a poured rubber floor in there, but I guess I can wait a bit for that. I think it has to go down over a slab...I've been trying to find out about that but it makes my head hurt. Its a really expensive product and I've been trying to source it for industrial use, but not had much luck.

My only experience of pouring floors is when we had the floor screeded. There was a bit of spreading but there was a reliabilty on gravity levelling the floor. So how can you pour a rubber floor so that it ends up sloping?

I dunno, because gravity, as you say would make it seemingly impossible.

But poured floors don't have the downfall of the mas mats that some of the rest of us use, where bedding and urine get trapped underneath them and they are very hard to clean, and left unclean obviously unhygenic and pretty unpleasant to be around.

    edit:

though googling for equine rubber floor this looks really good:
    http://www.rephouse.com/products/equine/seamless-with-armorgrip

in fact...perhaps the matting is now much better....hmm.

OK, so same issue with concrete to lay matts over...how you get it to slope in the right way, and should walls be done first?:D

They are going to screed my garage floor soon which apparently needs to slope at 2 degrees so I will ask how they achieve the slope - may be if they tilt the whole house first until it has set a bit?
    I think....

They won't be screeding it with self-levelling compound I guess. 2 degs is a tiny slope, and maybe fairly firm concrete will stay in place? Also, will you be checking the slope? What's the tolerance set at? If it's plus/minus 2 degrees, it can be level and still within tolerance. If there's no tolerance specified, can you complain? :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

know they're not everyones cuppa, but I love James. Every time I've seen them live, they do something new, something different, something unexpected.
They have a tour coming up where they're playing with a choir & orchestra. I've found this footage that suggests that they're looking to re-invent aspects of their music, rather than simply add stuff to what they do.

Really looking forward to this gig now!

I think if it is less than 2 degrees building regs won't pass it (other options for integral garage is to have a 6 inch threshold) so a slight slope is definitely a better bet in my book especially as it means if you park the car wet it will drain out the door to the surface drain.
