does it have any worth as an allotment? The idea of people not them coming in daily to garden it might even see neighbours up offer or other neighbours bid. They don't need to know you'd rather sell it if you are prepared to merket it as such......
Better still, tell them you've had some interest from the Residents of Dale Farm0 -
And I'm grumpy! The folk who live behind our old garden have started negotiating with us for it......and at the moment they're offering less than half what we'd consider it's worth.
Somehow I don't see any meeting of minds here. We have to weigh up the pros of selling it now and doing something useful with the money, like putting solar panels on our barn, or toughing it out, by which time the FiTs will be much lower.
Decisions!
Be clear to them that they're nowhere near a realistic offer price.
as silvercar says, the only way is up from here...
Good Luck! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Funny you should have said that; it's what I'd written before I changed it to scrap cars, realising that approach wouldn't be a great plan for us either!
They're still there, aren't they?0 -

Thanks.....we might just get the good luck. These guys think there is no one else serious, and as we can't move the plot, they have a bit of a monopoly.....

Put a pig and it's muck heap on the spot.
Nice bacon, and a nice price“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I bet you are a tough negotiator'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Anyway, I had those lined up for my noisy neighbour with the dogs here, but he's behaving atm.I've been growing comfrey all season too, just in case the pigs don't happen yet. You'll know what for!!! :rotfl:

Is there any road access? Could always apply for planning permission for a garage, then rent it out. You can make quite a nice income that way.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I dunno.
I tend to be reasonably frank. I enjoyed negotiations for the house. In fact, dh was more excited about the house, but what I enjoyed most was the negotiating. They kept trying to move us up and I just kept telling the truth ''I won't be heartbroken if we don't get it''.
If you are making a fair offer than you can stand by it and know you won't be sad if you lose out because the alternative was not fair/right.
In this case, if 1/2 the asking price is not reasonable then Davesnave has to think of alternatives to make his investment in that land make sense, and an annual rent might be more prudent than a sale for 50% of what he thinks its worth.
Davesnave, is it on the right side of the City for me, or not? I have an annoying habit of pottering about with a radio...not too load, but audible.0
