There's a whole branch of game theory deals with how you split the £50. How did you have in mind, Michaels?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I couldn't phone (legally) if I were stuck in traffic. I just have a regular phone... not even a car charger for sophistication.

Just loaded my main website, 179 people on there right now ... so how come, as it's so popular right now, I've only made £10 so far today???? CLICK you bugg4hs... click.... don't read it ... Jesus.

What is your website? maybe we can give it some traffic.

MSE rules say I shouldn't post the link here but on the referrals board (where I was actually the very first zopa referrer). There seem to be a whole range of splits offered for the different offers but the most common is a 50:50 split or the referrers money and the referee gets to keep all their new customer bonus if there is one.

Game theory is probably the way to go on this perhaps posting on the zopa thread suggesting the first person to offer you 90% of their commission gets your business would be the way to go?!

Not far from me there is what is a detached house currently converted in to bedsits, price reduce from 650k to 575k - if you could get it for 500k and then demolish and put 5 flats on the plot (this has been done to several properties on the stretch of road) you could probably sell the flats for about £1m and with build costs of may be 300k there is a nice profit to be made assuming the market doesn't turn too far against you.

I don't quite have that much maturing, but cheers for the tip off...;)

Have you ever considered investing in suburban extensions....or more seriously there is Zopa where the banks are kept out of the picture and you get to lend directly to real borrowers at probably a better return than you can get from the banks but a bit like premium bonds in that you are taking a small level of risk on whether 'your' borrowers all pay up 100%. This is my referral link. If you use it we could split £50.

I looked into zopa once. The problem with zopa is that the tax man assumes you have no defaulters and charges you tax as if all the interest was paid, now if you do have defaulters you are paying tax on money you don't see, so your profits become very poor. So that means you should only lend to those with excellent credit rating, for which you get lower interest rates = poorer returns. So not really worth the effort.

Either he was using hands free or the engine was off, so not using the phone whilst driving illegally.

I haven't really looked in to this (only joined and loaned some money very short term to get cash back and referral bonuses) but it would seem unlikely that you have to pay tax on interest you have not received - however I could imagine that they might not let you offset capital losses from defaulters against interest received (for the lender the effective rate of return is capital plus interest repayments divided by capital invested)?

right, it savvy people....how much should I be looking for a simple website creation? Just a few simple pages with a contact form? I have no creative ability what so ever, and would want the thing to be prettyish, but not flashy. I can provide photos to be used but not sure how prettiest to lay them out etc. How much does one pay for maintaining one of these things? Are there ''people''?

I know someone is going to say ''its something you can do'' but I really don't think I can. I am the one who was foiled by the complexity of blogging sites.

It's a deep, dark secret .... I never tell anybody where my main one is :)

I'm ashamed of it ... in 2006 I decided the CMS I wanted and installed it (one click), then struggled to find a template to fit (for free), so ended up with a "you'll do" template (which was really bad) ... since then I've never had the b4lls to fiddle with it and try new templates (if available) in case it caused my income from that site to die.
