Sorry.:o I am actually quite shy & embarrassed when it comes to myself.
I'd say my eyes. I fear my hair is thinning!:(It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

excess of testosterone, or somat, don't they say?
so there are two good things immediately.
But...does it mean you don't have any teeth?0 -

I have teeth, & they are not in too bad shape. Although 2 of them are not my own - they were capped as a result of a childhood accident.:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

see, you're sounding like quite a catch now.Feeling any better?
I have a capped tooth too, a front one. the same tooth has been in many accidents ranging from rearing horses, an argument with a front door, champagne bottles, and icey ground. Its dying now, and I have to sort out what I'll do when the tooth goes visibly brown, I have nightmares about it so...like most big decisions in my life...keep putting it off.0 -

We don't like admitting to our own faults. I probably needed glasses for years, before I actually got them. I'd walk down the street with a mate, & he'd say "Oh, wolves are looking to sign so & so", & I'd say "Where'd you hear that?".
He'd say "On that A-frame over there".
"What A-frame" I'd ask.
"Outside the newsagents."
"What newsagents?":rotfl:
What convinced me, was slowing down on the m-way to see if it was my junction, & realising that despite the sign being absolutely huge, I'd had to slow to 40mph!
I dread to think of what I've missed. Years of poor views at music gigs and so on. I may have even missed mrs jelly!:(
I refused to get glasses when I was in my teens but finally had to for my car driving test (the 3rd one - they changed the way they did the sight test, before, all I did before I went into the test centre was memorise the number plates!). I was riding a motorcycle at the time and to see road signs, I would shut my bad eye so I could see it!
Of course, at the same time I was going to loads of music gigs and it just wasn't the same with glasses on, it was all too crisp and in focus...so if I ever go out to the pub now for a gig, I leave the glasses at home just to get some of the old atmosphere back. Mind you, it it easier than it was as my sight has actually improved over the years (gone from -4.50 in one eye, -1.25 in the other to 0 both eyes but the astigmatism has worsened), years ago when I left the glasses at home, I couldn't read the labels on the bottles behind the bar, now I can see them just fine.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

do NOT be fooled into think a mid mornign curry will make you feel better even if you have a cold. emails client to say I wasn't up for today and she brought be an oven meal curry. Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck. I now have a cold, a head ache, and feel rather ill.
Ah, you were misadvised. Only the hottest curries will cure a cold (vindaloo/madras or dahnsack) If you can find a nepal kalio, go forf it! It has to be one that makes your eyes water and nose run like you're catching a cold. No I'm not pushing homeopathy here.
And not an oven one- a hot take-away does the trick.
And mid-morning I don't know but the most decadent mid-day mealis is last-night's hot curry reheated for lunch.
Dunno if that would still cure a cold but who cares! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

urgh, I can't drive I'm too dizzy...and tbh. when she'd offered I bleated ''chicken soup''. But she's made of sterner stuff and thought the chicken soup a pathetic arsenal.
I felt better about an hour ago, and now I feel grim again. Not dreadful, you understand, just a bit grim and very dizzy.0 -
Pastures, I agree with lemonjelly that it's too soon to know if how you feel is actually depression. It sounds to me like exhaustion, coupled with what my GP called "reactive state" when he signed me off work for a few weeks after late-nearly-ex died. Huge oversimplification, but depression is when you feel terrible but that's out of proportion to what's going on in your life, whereas reactive state is when you feel terrible because life is throwing more at you than anyone should be expected to cope with. Reactive state usually gets better quickly and without treatment when the circumstances of your life change.
It sounds to me as though the only thing that's going to make a big difference to your mental state is getting help with the remaining old (in the short term) and getting her into a home as soon as you can. Dave is right - she may not want to move, but she needs to be somewhere safe, and the right thing for you and your siblings to do is to make the decisions for her, and get her into somewhere where she will be adequately looked after. She may think that things can carry on as they are, but they can't. It's not just that you want out (understandably), but it sounds as though the old needs more care than one person can give for more than a short while.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
