Lost my way, trying to do everything/too much ... and so not now trying to do stuff I thought I had to do.
I'm still clock watching and hour counting.... two days ago I was there and about to witness the last breath. So much has happened between there and here.
Poundland came up trumps with some notelets/envelopes this morning, so I have to write a note to a couple of people/places, but not doing any "sorting of old's stuff", which I thought was part of what I was supposed to be doing. Just going to do phone arounds and notes today really. Might go part with a big wedge at the funeral place later today too - and tell them I've had a rethink about a couple of things. Distant sibling is taking charge of flower choosing and says we should have an order of service, so they'll be choosing and contacting the funeral place direct.... rather than what everybody's been doing so far which is to tell me things need to be done ... and not actually taking the jobs from me to do them.
Good. And after they are done talking to the funeral place, give them a list of phone numbers to call.
I think they really should be involved, it's a good way of coming to terms with end of it all.0 -

Yep, that is his intention. He is not the sort to just give up but it was quite disappointing. Hopefully though, it will give him the kick up the bum he needed after losing his way half way through the year.
In the mad scramble for uni places this year, a friend had an offer of AAA. He got A*, A*, B with an A* in the subject he wants to study and got rejected. So they've gone off in the car 100 miles to try to persuade the uni to change their mind.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My youngest did alright in his !!!. Actually he did well, but he has so many super brainy friends and so many not so brainy but at super schools that his results don't shine - he feels.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. silvercar: as long as he gets the grades to go into uni, that's the last time he needs to think about them as later it's only the degree results that count0

Better he lose his way a bit now, rather than later. A bit trendy to say this ATM, but most of us need practical experience of consequences.
Recently discovered that a song I'd planned to include in my funeral has a four letter word in it.....:(:(0 -

actually, this is why IMO its so dangerous not to allow children early failiure (e.g. the 'deferred success'') and encourage the reversal of that and the pride and sense of acheivment it brings. The opposite cause of action....not suggesting failure is reversible, is of course equally at risk of being very damaging.0
