Maybe National Trust membership would work out better for you?

I can never understand how people pay to go to see stands of things to buy :(, we went to Chilli Fiesta a few weeks ago and it would have cost us £20 to get in to then spend more money (a burger was £7!).

However, we did a tip run today and I have done a few more trees with the mattock. Best buy EVER.

we went to a little honey thing to day at lacock abbey. It was very nice but...!!!!!!...£15.50 to get on to look at a handful of stands of honey etc TO BUY. First they tried to charge £17.70. Two quid wasn't much of a discount but still.....£15.00

we did taste some nice honeys though, including the most amazing african one that tasted of five spice. still......£15!!!!

While on holiday we took a ferry to one of the little islands that is meant to have magnificent gardens. They wanted 17.50 EUROs each to tour the house and gardens, with no option to tour the gardens alone. So we didn't bother. Walked round the outside of the island, had a drink at the waterfront and caught the ferry back.

n'ah, then I'd get all hot and bothered about NT private tenancies, bizarre agricultural pratice and ''mates'' policies. Much better to just avoid Lacock in the future. :D (unless I see it at a bargain price at some thing or other...I've done that in the past because stourhead is a really good place to dog walk in winter when they let dogs is...clean paths on miserable days, decent carpark)

That reminds me, I have to go and water the tomatoes. We are at that stage where we have unknown weird random black spots and withered leaves on them. But the tomatoes seem to be ripening, and very tasty,.

My busy Lizzies are blighted. Don't know if that counts.

If I had the original boxes and receipts I guess I could take them back to Tesco, but I haven't. Suppose I should be grateful they weren't expensive.

It's only the outside ones and I'm tempted to spray tonight or just leave them to the fates.

We've already had some but I would have preferred a few more from the ones that are turning green.

*sigh* blight resistant ones next year for outdoors.

Can somebody clever tell me what's happened to my sweet peas, please? They were doing really well, and then I noticed some white on the leaves. It looks a bit like very dilute emulsion that's been painted on and allowed to dry. The leaves have started to shrivel up, and the whole thing has gone from being a joy to something rather sad. I have no idea about gardening, and this is very disheartening after they were doing so well before.
