Glad you feel you got through the evening without having to say much if that's what suits you. Personally, I'm the interfering type, and quite like the chance to try to say things that might possibly help in situations like that, but I know I'm unusual in that. So far, I haven't lost any friends over it. :)
    )

Its hard for me not to say what I think. I used to say ''if you don't want to know my opinion then don't tell me about it''. But I have in recent years wondered if this is always the best act of friendship in some situations. I will NOT lie or say I think something that I don't but sometoimes people without a NP thread need somewhere to vent. I get frustrated when I think there is a clear option or two for people and they don't take it, but then....I'm not in their shoes. atm I have her and another friend whose partner I also really dislike. The first friends husband strikes me as potentially ''dangerous'', the second one just nastily manipulative. Second friend once vented at dh and I for an afternoon and told us some stuff I thinks she wishes we hadn't. I'm quite proud of myself for not laying into him when we see them. I try and think back to my toxic ex and remember that its harder in that situation to see a ''true'' picture. One justifies things and makes excuses and if friends are ''too good'' and truthful you lose them as a gateway out.

I also know both these women, while express envy at our marriage, wouldn't have chosen dh and have overlooked superb men who would be interested. Friend two I would love to meet someone like LJ. She too has great love for live music, and she's more tolerant than I of fussy eaters. In fact, I've always thought the latter is where her problems with men have started....:D:D

Eggs are a great idea....if we have any! I have three broody atm and am not getting any eggs. I will not be offended by any fussiness, just don't want people going hungry and tired.

Saw the first ripe blackberry here yesterday! Hurrah. My garden really is going over though. The californian poppies that have bought me joy for weeks and weeks and weeks are looking very tatty, but I'm leaving them there to seed :o and the roses moved too late and suffering from the weather are flowering weakly and are showing a bit of blackspot now. Next year, next year. Its not been bad for a first summer.

eta: the bonus of broody chickens is they are pretty stationary so very easy to stroke. Two won't have hatched when you come but one might have done, which would be even nicer, but I can't make any promises!

    I want to know!

    Well you do, now.:p

She's the sister of a 'neighbour,' who's half a mile distant. She's living in a caravan while her husband does up a derelict school in deepest Somerset.....and it's taking some [STRIKE]time[/STRIKE] years. Familiar story, so you'll understand her interest. ;)

I'm scratchy this morning because I gorged on my librarty books, stayed awake all night to read three of them. :o I think tiredness makes one more sensitive to annoyances/niggles. TBH, I'd forgotten about the tooth:o I should find a dentist though. I have very weak teeth, unlike everyone else in my family.

I was like that yesterday. Couldn't get straight to slepe weds night, picked up book, got into it, & as I wasn't far off finishing, forced myself to stay awake & finish it. Cue a tired jelly thursday. Spent a fair few minutes yesterday picking a new one to read. Had spent most of the day thinking I'd go for Bad Science by Ben Goldacre (came highly recommended & found it on holiday for £2), but picked up something else at the last minute, & have quite got into it!

I've been monitoring the blackberries at our bowling green & will be taking a tub for some pickings on monday!

I remember a few years ago a gang of us went camping. A great camping pudding was tons of blackberries picked by us all, with a giant amount of custard made (with a fair bit of difficulty) on a campfire.

    Was everso yum!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

The neighbours are having the outside of their house decorated. This involves their decorators putting up a scaffolding tower with much clanking and loads of swearing in a foreign language. That's okay, except they were doing this at 7.30 in the morning, and they woke me up. So, I'm bad-tempered and grumpy. The same thing happened a few days ago, and there's loads more house left to paint.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The team wouldn't save in chrome so i had to do it in ie.

When i try and join the league it asks for a pin and password.

Is that where i enter MSE and boombust?

It's asking for 6 numerals for the pin?

I need to check my emails for the pin. Unfortunately I can't do it from work, so I'll put that info up later (Viva had the same issue).

    many apologies!:o

If you are really tired, dropping an egg or something is a tragedy!

Can you kip for a couple of hours on the sofa?

Hope you get the tooth sorted.
