Morning all
Today needs to be a lazy day, we're both tired, the flat is a bombsite (yet again ), so this morning will be spent tidying and cleaning the flat, then this afternoon will be spent checking the footie scores

Not sure whether I mentioned it before or not, but when we went to London a couple of weeks ago for ds birthday treat we went into the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. There were 4 of us, we all had burger and chips (very basic, not even as nice as Burger King), and it came to £64   The service was pretty poor (our waiter was nice but hardly spoke English and every time we asked for anything he just smiled at us and walked away). Anyway, I sent an email when we got back and today I have received £25 of vouchers from them, so at least when ds and I go to London again it will cover a lunch for the pair of us :TMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Not bad at all, and certainly makes up for a disappointing meal.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

It pays to complain, we generally don't do it often enough and just accept poor quality food and appalling service as 'oh well, they were busy'
Thats fine if you're paying £1.99 or whatever for fast food, but you expect better where there is proper service.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I have also realised I haven't added any of my birthday money to the mortgage pot. This has become a yearly ritual, one I wasn't sure whether to continue with this year, but as I can basically assume I will either no longer receive any child maintenance for ds or if I do it will always be minimal amounts (due to ex not likely to be given a decent job ever again), if I want this mortgage cleared it is completely down to me. I am so glad that for the last 4 years I have been paying off as much as I can, at least we will still have a chance of moving at some point in the future if I can clear it, something we never would have had otherwise now.
So, £100 from my birthday money has duly been added to the pot, and with the new footie season kicking off this afternoon and various new betting offers around, I am hoping to make a good sized dent in it again soon

BB did your ex mention money and how it must be hard now he's left you to it financially? Or was he oblivious?0

He skirted round it a bit, so I mentioned it
He apologised, said the mess he got in was a result of trying not to let me down financially, as well as supporting himself and his gf, and helping out his brother ... I did make a point of saying I do't understand how, on his salary, he got in that mess, as my salary is a third of his and I dont have any debts other than my mortgage. Tbh, I could have ranted and raved at him but he looked broken
