I wish.... it was one of those seemless patterns where the sleeves are knitted as part of the body so doing them separately wasn't an option and then I went on to complicate things further by adding a band round body and sleeves at the same level. It seemed like such a good idea at the time.
Peace has descended on the house as the younger oiks are outside terrorising the chooks and the OH is trudging round the farm store with the elder two in search of doggy bandages and more chewy sticks. Have redressed her leg today. The gash has pulled together nicely, theres no horrible smell or ooxing pus which hopefully means its not infected.
..........I clearly lied about the peace and quiet. Child no. 2 who has been here for an hour has managed to bang her face and loose a tooth. Fortunately one that was already wobbly.
and to make things more interesting for lunch I will be feeding one lactose intollerant child, one coeliac on a gluten free diet, a diabetic and a vegetarian plus OH and DD2 who isn't at all picky as long as whatever I feed her comes with pickled onions.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

I tried emailing a couple too, but it said that there was a problem with the file format. I'm not giving up though!!

Right about now I should be sitting in a v. posh restuarant with OH, the DDs and a whole loda friends. I got dolled up, sorted out the DDs, loaded everyone into the car, pick someone else up and drove 35 of the 40 minutes to the restaurant before DD1 spectacularly spewed . Did the sensible thing and abandoned OH and DD2 to bring DD1 home. Tis quite astounding just how much puke one child can contain. Made it all the way home and up to the bathroom before she threw up again, and again and again. Am now eating gingerbread men for dinner, in between emptying the sick bucket. Oh the joys of children!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Sorry to hear that your dinner was spoiled. I have been very lucky in my life as our DS's have only really had D and V when they were babies...

Managed two hours without puke or exploding bottoms. House honks. Washing machine hasn't stopped since 8pm yesterday. Still the lovely people at Ocado have sent a voucher for £20 off and free delivery if I order something for tomorrow. Cue imitation Febreeze, lots of washing powder and cleaning products and a heck of a lot of stamps to make the minimum order.
DD1 is on her third bath of the day. Long hair and lumpy puke are not a nice look.... why is it that kids always manage to puke on their own hair even when you're holding it back out of the way?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
DD1 slept thropugh the night in her own bed without incident. She did throw a bit of a wobbly when informed her duvet was still wet and she had to sleep under a mountain of blankets like what poor people did in the olden days.
DD2 spent the evening hopefully clutching the sick bucket on the off chance that she would be allowed to spend the night on the sofa watching telly till far too late. Sadly for her (but fortunately for me) shes right as rain.
OH did his best to help out and mopped the ground floor of the house. Would have been so mich more effective if he'd swept the floors first rather than just pushing the dog hair around. Still at least he did something.
Plans for today are minimal as I doubt DD1 will feel like doing much. I still have tons of laundry to do but ran out of space to dry things yesterday. Shuffled money to make it stretch as far as humanely possible and then a bit. Means we should be under the magic 5K barrier but I'm skinter than a very skint thing until payday which is a lifetime away. Still the end is in sight. Need to figure out how to shift the final loop of the noose in as short a time as possible. Would be fab to be debt free by Easter but thats extremely unlikely. No matter how dedicated I am I can't free up a grand and a quarter a month for the net four months and theres not much left to E-bay.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Random brain farts and things to achieve in 2012
- Get rid of the debt. All of it!
- End the year with some savings in anticipation of a new roof, replacement windows and quite probably a car
- Learn to crochet simply because
- Use up all the wool I have stashed in the cupboard before purchasing anymore which should help massivley with objective no.1
- Spend much more time with the DDs
- Be far more organised with the housework and get on with it rather than whinging about it. If the Amish can love domestic drudgery then so can I.
- More tidying, more cleaning and much more chucking out
- Less buying! We have far more stuff than we need and the sheer volume of crap gathering dust is depressing.
- Major depletion of all storecupboards. We're spending far too much on food. Theres stuff in the cupboards thats a decade old (still) and much more thats celebrated at least one birthday. I fear a spot of meal planning is in order.
