Another post midnight bedtime. Stayed up far too late again to finish the paw print shoes. Was most tempted to felt them there and then but I figured I needed to sleep at some point, that and the OH wouldn't have been overly impressed if I ran the washing machine in the wee small hours. Bunged them in the washing machine first thing this morning which wasn't quite as first thing as normal. 15 minutes later they are already partially felted and look fab. Have bunged them back into the machine to finish off.
Sold another book on Amazon yesterday. Next to no profit in it, but another space generated on the bookcase.
Didn't get round to marmalade making yesterday so will need to do that today as I promosed to deliver a jar tomorrow. Also need to do a drive by at work just to check the building is still standing and to evict any corpses from the mouse traps. Will drop off a Christmas card at a friends house at the same time.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
We're totally out of sync with the rest of the world - we've decided to have Christmas Day today, as the kids have five more days with us before they go to their Mum's. This way, we have ages to play together with new toys and games, and eat all the leftovers! Having said that, I've not actually made the Christmas cake yet...

Happy early Christmas TTBG! I'm so with you on the disorganised x-mas cake making front. I made the first batch way back in August but somehow or other didn't quite get round to making one for us...... it'll give me something to do on Saturday.
Finally managed to do a spot of x-mas shopping, taking advantage of the many sales. Treated myself to a new ironing board... I know sooo decadent... and came across Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock band in a box for the Wii for a mere £45 which will go down a storm with the DDs. Picked up a couple of stocking filler type nick nacks, a few gifts for my parents and enough food to keep the starving hordes well fed until mid January. Total spend a little over £200, although £80 of that was on whoopsied meat and giant roasting joints plus things for OH from the DDs. Rather glad the last couple of weeks have been super frugal.
Still have the marmalade to make but have almost finished the puddy tat paws... will do the last bits tomorrow and wrap the gifts we bought today before starting the great bog clean. This reminds me why its so much nicer to descend on Granny for x-mas.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
11 jars of marmalade cooling on the worktop and the first bathroom cleaned. Have sooo muich to do before the wrinklies descend but really can't be arsed. Would rather slob in front of the fire with a good book. Planning to make sure all bogs are clean and the kitchen sparkles. Anything beyond that is a bonus.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Seems like a sensible plan - and if anyone comments, offer them the cleaning stuff and suggest that exercise and activity are good for keeping wrinklies more youthful!0 -
The wrinklies arrived late meaning the house was actually clean once they got here. Its already a tip again but I made the effort which is the bit that matters. Granny and the DDs spent the afternoon making cranberry sauce and watching trash on the telly box before traring us all to take out. Have commited the most heinous crime of ignoring the washing up. Now waiting for the DDs to go to sleep so that I can impersonate the jolly fat man and QFO to bed.

hope your impersonation went off smoothly.
We have given out Skylanders for the Wii between them. Cue much unamusement from our wrinkly, as we should be 'out' not letting them play the game. SIGH. In the end OH had to take her to one side and explain that this is all they have wanted since October, and nothing short of a nuclear bomb is going to get them off it anytime soon....

Christmas is officially over for another year. Had a really nice day full of unexpected surprises. My parents went overboard with gifts so we have enough chocolate and coffee to prevent starvation for quite some time. The DDs had an amazing day and loved everything they recieved but without a doubt the best gift was also the simplest. Granny insists on sourcing a family game every year which we usually sit around the dinner table playing, usually its a bit of fun but this years game of Ratuki was stupendous and ticked the oh yes box on so many levels. Mostly because it was simple enough for DD1 to play without too much fustration but also because it appealed to DD2s very competative nature and resulted in much giggling. The DDs insisted we played for almost two hours which is a record.
Escaped out for an hours peace to walk the hairballs in glorious sunshine, of course its now blowing a hoolie and I can't sleep for the random crashes and bangs as stuff blows around outside.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
