The week has flown by and somehow or other its school christmas dinner day already. Now have to psyche myself up for a mamoth bout of furniture rearranging so as to cram something approaching 300 people into the school dining room whilst overflowing by another hundred into the sports hall. Means liberating a heck of a lot of classroom tables which always goes down well with the kids.

OH and friend survived their cross country car viewing trek and most surprisingly came back without buying the landie they'd gone to view. Better still it took so long to get there and back that the land rover specialist they were detouring to visit on the way home had closed for the day by the time they go there so other than blowing £60 on a tank of fuel no spending occurred.

Cold is getting worse by the day. My voice disappeared completely yesterday, have the mother of all sore throats and a v. painful cough but can't take any time off this week or next, theres simply too much going on. Besides which its hardley polite to !!!!!! orf to bed with a lemsip and a stash of books when OHs guests are here. On the bright side there are only 12 more days until the next holidays. No cold dare hang on that long. Will make a change not to start the holidays ill.

EE- the uniform showed up four days later.

Ummm, sweetie, you need to take more care of yourself otherwise that cold could easily take advantage and move in for a while...

You need to take of yourself Moo. Get to your bed early and let everyone else look after themselves. Take care

Coughed all night. Feel pants but on the bright side OH has done the ironing and has taken his friends to a canal museum for the day leaving me in peace. Planning to spend the day watching cheesy films, eating chocolate and drinking lemsip. May even get DD1s gloves finished.

*wonders why it says default at the start of every post... curious.... *

nips in to announce the completion of the knittery part of the knitted gloves.... just the ends to sew in.... all eight of them..... pah..... bit miffed I told DD1 she could have them because they fit me... mind you I'm not the one hanging about at the bus stop after a 20 minute walk each morning.... must think generous festive thoughts.....

Postie did appear bringing many gifts...... firstly a spare part for OHs broken air nibbler which I had to argue broke because it was faulty rather than because OH was a pillock..... The muppets at the other end of the phone made the mistake of telling me it broke through user error without seeing piccies of the broken bit. Bet they won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Other exciting arrivals included a v. generous three figured cheque from my grandfather and my sock yarn secret santa. Have fondled the contents and am trying v. hard to refrain from opening any of the packages... bet I give in way before Christmas. I have no will power whatsoever. Whatever it contains has to be way better than yesterdays school secret santa which was truly pants in an I grabbed the first thing I came to from the x-mas tat aisle just as the shop was shutting kindaway.

Off to consume something for lunch before avoiding sewing in ends.

Finally finished.... although they haven't turned out quite as expected. Did wonder at the time why the charts for left and right glove were identical apart from the direction of the cable..... clearly they shouldn't have been ... Can only conclude DD1 is happy with them since both she and the gloves are elsewhere.

Am most glad its the weekend. Money seems to be frittering in from all directions. My boss has decided to fork out unexpected overtime as a thank you for putting up with the havoc the illegal immigrant is causing. No one was at all surprised when she phoned in with a headache this morning..... although thats usually Thursdays excuse.

One outstanding knitty project down. Two more to go. Am going to allow myself to open the Secret Sant pressie as a reward for achieving this otherwise I'm going to wait until x-mas day... really I am... no really... honestly......

I am having an affair. Quite when or with whom remains a mystery but OH is firmly convinced this is why things between us are a bit strained. Nowt to do with the two bottles of vino and couple or four extra large bottles of whatever he can get his hands on that hes shifting each night. Have reached the end of the road as far as things between us are concerned.

Suppose like anything the hardest part is admitting to myself *again* that hes not going to change, not for me or the DDs at any rate. Kicking myself that I've given him another chance after the last time that I'd decided that was the final straw, which although it seems was a lifetime ago, was in reality only the tail end of July. Still I've given us another try which I needed to do even if it hasn't worked out. Seems a crappy thing to decide in the run up to Christmas but if it wasn't that it would be exams or someones bithday or something else entirely.

Not had much sleep. Far too many thoughts going round my head. Stupidly the most important thing is to make sure wherever we end up is on a bus route to DD1s high school because shes v. happy there. Think moving her to another school would be the biggest mistake I could make at the mo. At least it focuses the hunt for a home, assuming the DDs and I are the ones to move out. Nothings certain at this stage, especially when OH can have conveniently forgotten the whole conversation by dawn.

Am surprisingly calm about the whole thing. I suppose I've been expecting this to be the outcome all along.
