Morning all! No snow here yet but I can see it on the hills. Its all very exciting if a tad on the nippy side. Friends have just departed and the washing hokey cokey has begun.
OH is tucked up in bed feeling like shoite. Hes blaming it on a cold but since hes been sober since my most recent erruption theres a fair old chance its the beginnings of the withdrawl, will know for definate when he gets stomach cramps and uncontrollable diahorhea.
Went food shopping yesterday. Filled a trolley for £52. Hoping that'll last well into next week.
Blew rather a lot this morning on a knitting pattern, chunky wool and some 12mm needle tips after seeing something gobsmackingly awesome on KnittingNoras thread. After much umming and ahing of the would I really wear it variety I thought, what the heck. It should give me something to do over Christmas.... only have 10 rows of the current shawl to go but that equates to about 5 hours knitting. Rather glad I didn't make it any bigger because I'd be sick to death of it by now and would have bunged it in the back of a cupboard.
Have an afternoon of nursery school concerts to look forward to followed by another performace of the junior departments play. Will be most glad when tomorrow is over and I don't have to endure it again. Lovely as it is once was enough by the fifth run through it gets a bit annoying.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hey up Moo, sorry I havent been around so much. Too much to catch up on so just read back one page. Seems that you are struggling with the beast that is addiction again. So so sorry to hear that you are having to go through this again. It is an illness that he needs to get help with but only he can make that decision. Meantime, you will work out what is the right thing to do. When you know, you will know. My experience is that I woke up one morning and I just knew what I had to do and calmly went about putting things into place. You will get there.
In other news, I have a week off next week and I popped in here to see if you would be too busy or not to maybe meet up at a point between us with the big dogs for a frolic around the lake. That said - if it is snowing I may not have the courage to drive that way. Let me know if you fancy it. We can have coffee and chew the fat whilst the dogs go berserk. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sounds fab and ordinarily I'd jump at the chance but things are so up in the air at the mo. that I haven't a clue whats going on day to day. Can I get back to you at some point nearer the time once Thursdays snow has decided whether or not its making an appearance and some form of normality has descended over my life.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Of course it was the wrap and gobsmackingly awesome is an understatement *stomps feet and yells "want one" in the manner of an over tired toddlers* obviously I then went in search of the yarn to make it and got a bit distracted by the array of colours on offer which is why I ended up spending so much.
Did another couple of rows of the tediously slooooooow shawl. 6 more to go before I can cast off. Thoroughly bored of it now, hoping the end result justifies the effort.
Managed not to spend anything further yesterday. Anticipating tomorrow being quite expensive as its the school Christmas Fayre. DD2 is eyeing up all manner of tat. Have spied rather a lot of v. interesting novels so am planning to spend today decluttering bookshelves to add more to the pile. Am going to fling, fling, fling in the hopes of continuing on my quest for a minimalistic house, it'll make cleaning and / or moving easier. Still not sure which it will be but theres no chance of it happening this side of Christmas theres simply nothing viable out there which wouldn't cripple me financially.
Dropped the mother of all clangers yesterday. Phone beeped with an incoming message, did the clicky on the icon read the message thing only hadn't returned to the main menu yesterday so it displayed the last read message rather than the newest one. Meant I had a bit of a surprise when the relief cleaner bumped into a rather bemused illegal immigrant and I had to explain to the boss why instead of three cleaners for the evening I had four.... managed to do this without getting a bollocking which is always good. Ended up doing a whole load of stuff that I haven't had chance to do for ages. Think I was pushing it a bit when I suggested that this occurred on a weekly basis but he was quite impressed at the difference an extra body made. Hoping we get re-evaluated and allocated extra time each week since we're still working to the hours the council conjoured up prior to the last expansion, not that I want to work the extra hours at school but I might be glad of the option at some point in the not too distant future.
Plans for today involve much household drudgery in readiness for the arrival of OHs brother at some point on Friday. Won't get chance to do it tomorrow so need to make major headway today. Already made a start on the DDs bedrooms which revealled a major cull of DD1s wardrobe is required again. She has more clothes than drawer space as people keep giving her things which get bunged in there never to see the light of day again.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

of course, to be honest I realised that your diary had not been showing up in my subscriptions for some reason. I have next week off and thought that it might be nice to see if you were around, trundled over and saw your news
