Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

Good luck with OH brother. Maybe you need to take him to one side and explain to him what his happening. He might be able to help....
And remind me again why it is YOU keep talking about leaving. Why should you upset yours and your daughters routines, because he has an addiction he won't get help with? You have put far more energy into that home than he has. Let him find somewhere else.

of course, to be honest I realised that your diary had not been showing up in my subscriptions for some reason. I have next week off and thought that it might be nice to see if you were around, trundled over and saw your news
I will be around for a while so just whenever the mood takes you give me a shout and if we can coordinate ourselves we will

Drum roll please......
I have finished the shawl (all apart from the sewing in of ends but whats a few loose ends between friends?) bit dissapointed in the finished article because its tiny.... well not tiny as such but much smaller than I expected... more like a giant Scout necker than a shawl... piccies to follow in daylight.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning Moo
Look forward to seeing your pics Moo. What is your next project. What else did you buy?:)
Glad to hear you had an extra pair of hands even though it wasn't authorised. I could do with an extra pair myself. House needs full going over and nothing will be done today as I am hitting the big smoke, Belfast. Wind here awful and I'm supposed to be driving. May end up taking bus will make a decision after 8 am. The world is waiting:):)

Sounds interesting will look forward to the pictures. I just bought an antique lace shawl that i want to put a piece of material behind to turn into a throw for the bed. I always have grand ideas but never know how to see them through. Wish I had your umph. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Have Music Magpied my way to £60, who'd a thought The Wiggles were a sought after item. Each cheesy DVD went for something in the region of £3 which is fabaroony as DD2 purchased them all at some fundraiser or other for a couple of quid a while back. Don't feel quite so bad about splurging on the mythical yarn which still hasn't arrived, am getting most impatient. Have instead started knitting a beanie with 3D paw prints.
DD2s sprained ankle is getting worse, the GPs recommendationof total rest means shes gone from walking on tip toes to refusing to put any weight on it at all. Will be going for an x-ray on Monday if its not improved a heck of a lot by then.
Have a weekend full of chaufeuring duties to look forward to.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hi Moo
Glad to see you have some money to splurge on more crafty bits.
Hope DD2 ankle improves alot - you so do not want a child in cast over the winter!
Hope you survive the visit from BIL - does this mean OH will be drinking or is he still abstaining?0 -
Crafty bits still haven't arrived and aren't likely to for quite some time since they were only posted yesterday.
OHs bro was content to watch the horse racing and the football and the football highlights and match of the day. Bleugh. So got a heck of a lot of knitting done to stave off the sheer boredom of the contents of the telly box.
DD2s foot seems to have improved a smidgen which is most good since she hasn't used it since Wednesday. Hoping she'll be OK for her school trip on Tuesday but am not convinced.
OH is finally back at work after what seems like an eternity at home. He has actualy managed to do some productive things so we have fewer holes in the walls. Still a heck of a lot to go through but at least hes made a start.
End of month statements finally showed up, they've headed rather sharply in the wrong direction. Don't think the plummeting temperatures have helped as we seem to be going through £120 a month in coal and are looking at a £200 delivery of logs this side of Christmas. Have five days to source a birthday gift for DD2 although theres nothing at all that she wants which makes this incredibly difficult. Will come up with something, but clueless where to start.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Took DD2 for an x-ray. Her foot isn't broken. Have been instructed to increase the level of pain killers shes taking and make her walk on it normally, despite the discomfort this causes, to prevent further problems with the tendons. Wunderbar.
Whilst out I slapped £65 of fuel in the gas guzzler, blew £11 on painkillers at Boots and £9 on essentials at Aldi.... the caffeine crisis has been averted.
Stayed up far far too late last night, paw print hat is almost completed. Couldn't stay awake long enough to do the last half dozen rows. Still haven't sewed in the ends of the shawl or attached the various bits of mice to form bums.
Plans for the week are still on hold awaiting improvements from DD2, am housebound until shes up to walking far enough to go to school.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Tis a balmy ten degrees indoors, the fire went out overnight. Haven't time to relight it before work so will be perfecting my dressing under the duvet skills this morning. DD1 will simply refuse to get up.
DD2 is bored out of her skull and was most grateful that her teacher sent her a stack of work to do. So grateful that I caught her doing it in bed at 10pm. Shes going to harass her subject teachers for more work this morning to give her something to do today. Shes rather miffed that I won't allow her to go on her school trip to the cinema but shes in too much pain walking to risk it.
Yarn still hasn't arrived so I gave in and sewed in the ends from a few of the completed knits hanging about the place. Still need to find another few hours to complete the mices bums but incredibly slow progress is being made.
Its blowing a hoolie in the big world outdoors and apprently once the 60mph gusts clear and the torrential horrizontal rain stops we'll be buried under a deluge of snow. Fingers crossed the majority of it waits until after the weekend. DD2 will be most miffed if shes made to stay indoors whilst DD1 goes sledging.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
