Oh I so know that feeling! And this whole survey thing............ why when I get almost half way through does it pack up and say I dont qualify - on what grounds? Being too honest about carp savoury snacks ( NO I will NEVER buy them !) Happeing a lot lately and is really frustrating. Hope you get your 40p soon;)

Oh yes indeedy. I finally cashed out five pointless surveys later about the mother in law and her attitude on Chrismas Day. Not once did they ever ask "Have you ever spent Christmas Day with the m-i-l?"

Meanwhile don't get me started on TAs. They seem to be divided into three camps.... those who love children and want to teach them, those who dream of a teachers salary but are too thick to qualify and usually hate children and work of any description, and those who clearly didn't have a clue that teaching assistant is not education speak for one who sits around playing with stickle bricks, drinking coffee and generally having a wonderful time whilst ignoring the small noisy things in uniform. Its not the sort of job you should be doing unless you really really want to do it. Fortunately three quarters of the TAs I work with are awesome people. The less said about the others the better.

I sold the meerkat for a little over £30. It really wasn't worth that or anything like it.

The Halifax seem to have decided they can make marginally faster payments after all so my bank account is looking remarkably perky although not for long.

OHs sobriety didn't last. He seems to have stabilised at a bottle a night plus 2 or so ciders and is piling on weight as a result. Am impersonating an ostrich for the time being as hes behaving himself.

    Eek to the freezer!

Oh yes it is expensive living here! Same fridge freezer in the uk would probably have been abour 400 pounds, so equivalent to about $800.... ho hum. Still is doesn't matter now see my update....

Yesterday went swimmingly right up until the point the Martial Arts class finished when we discovered someone had inadvertantly taken DD1s bag of clothes. Obviously being DD1 she hadn't bothered to change after school so we're currently down an entire school uniform. Hoping whoever has it realises asap. Am most glad that today is non-uniform day fo her otherwise I'd have been attempting to wash and dry her other jumper v. late last night.

The gloves are progressing, incredibly slowly, but I have finally figured out how to knit a thumb which wasn't as complicated as it looked on paper. Also finding charts easier to follow than I anticipated which is always good.

Todays plans are a bit up in the air as OH has backache and wriggled non stop all night. Am totally kettled and not looking forward to the prospect of a day out anywhere. May well let DD2 watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban instead.

DId a spot more tidying yesterday. Am definately getting somewhere but not fast enough to have Granny here for Christmas.

As per normal nothing went to plan. Ended up dragging Oh to the quack who diagnosed back problems... quelle surprise... doled out pain killers and told him to stop sitting around doing nowt, grin and bear it, embrace the pain, get on with life but have a week off work anyway. Meant I ended up taking the DDs to the dentist as he can't drive or at least he couldn't at that point but managed to make it as far as the overpriced village shop an hour later. End result instead of being back at work for 3 I didn't make it till 5 and so I didn't finish until 8:30 making me doubly knackered.

Came home to find DD1 had done all her homework and packed ready for a sleepover at a friends. Being a neurotic mother I insisted she show me what she'd packed and even went as far as making her try stuff on to prove that her favourite jeans were in fact her younger siblings. The look on her face when she realised this was priceless.

Today is a merry go round of riding lessons, church fetes and chaufeuring duties, hopefully with a couple more hours sleep thrown in first.

OH is bored of being an invalid and has departed for B&Q. DD1 is at her friends, DD2 is upstairs playing with the Scalextric she bought at the church fete for a fiver and I'm making the most of the peace. Since the budget is shot to pieces OH has been instructed to pick up take out on his way home.

Will be spending the evening cursing the person who persuaded me to attempt this years church quiz which is annoying catchphrases ranging from the obvious ban ana (banana split) to the highly obscure mindbogling stuff which will be frustratingly obvious when I figure out what the answer is.

    Thank you!

Got a bit sidetracked in the end, finished the first glove (minus thumb) and knitted half the second glove. Realised I'd mis read the instructions on the first one but not until I'd done 25 rows of the second one so the cables are identical rather than mirror images.... not that it matters because DD1 won't be any the wiser.

Had a phone call from OHs friend who has been terminated with immedate effect and three months salary. Hes moving overseas and is in the process of renting out his flat and selling both cars in order to depart with as little as possible. Hopoing hes coming to collect his landie spares but OH seems to think he'll want to swap his winch and bumper for OHs bumper along with stripping it of all saleable parts because he'll get far more for it that way. Oh joy.

Haven't heard from DD1 so can only assume shes having a great time. DD2 spent the majority of the day in her room playing with the Scalextric. She did appear long enough to scoff chinese and watch The Wild before going to bed.

Plans for today involve liberally smearing DD2s bedroom wall with filler to replace the large lump of plaster that decided to crumble earlier in the week. Hoping theres enough to fill a couple of other holes too. It means theres lots of painting to do v. soon.... but much more tidying up and chucking out to do first.

Sorry to hear that you may be infested with more landy parts. I would have REALLY made a deadline for this getting back together by now. I feel your pain, as my OH built a kit car, BUT it only took him and his dad admittedly a month or two tops, not the years this is taking.
Well done on more throwing out. I too have to do that aswell.
    Again

    Morning Moo.

Ah men what are they like. They get a few pains and the end of the world is nigh. You have had a busy enough weekend so I am sure you will be glad to get today over with and an early night maybe. You seem to be able to do so many things day after day. You wear me out somedays :):)

Hope DD had a good time..would love to have seen her face when she realised the jeans weren't hers.

    Take care Moo
