Mmmmm sadly over priced kitchen gadget !!!!!!. Lovely as the stuff is I couldn't bring myself to part with £35 for two baking tins.... funny how I've just spent a smidgen more than that on knitting yarn though. Finally decided which to go for.... assisted by the price tag... and have purchased this and this for a teeny bit more than half the price it should retail at so I bought *cough* a few of each colour and got free shipping too. No further excuses for not starting on the socks... apart from the ongoing hat project which is paying for the sock yarn.

High school presentation was dire. a gratuitous plug for a local bookshop and overpriced mail order company to raise funds to buy books for the school library. Did meet the mother of the other child in DD1s catch up reading group who was whinging about being too skint to afford any of the books, being a single mother an all, who promptly got into a ginormous '61 plated 4x4 with Thule bike racks on the roof.

That could be my OH's ex-wife if you were in a different part of the country... Some people's priorities seem very weird.

Back home drinking coffe. Still have zero energy. Two more members of staff were sent home with something similar. Hate feeling pants. Going to surf, load the washing machine and dishwasher and veg for the remainder of the day. Will have to give in and get mug shots done eventually but today is not that day.

Sorry to read that you are feeling unwell Moo. Serious how quickly virus spread from one to another. Take care of yourself and take plenty of Vit C.

Big shock about your hubby heading to Finland. Has he worked there before?

OH heading off isn't that unexpected. He used to be away somewhere every week which became every other week then every month or so ... Finland is looking quite entertaining though following a barrage of e-mails from his boss telling the chaps that it really isn't that cold out there since it only ever reaches -4 degrees they can wear their UK uniforms. Poor chap clearly doesn't understand that -4 F is the equivalent of -20 C. His next e-mail said if it was really cold they could buy suitable local clothing and expense them. Suddenly he was inundated with volunteers. After that someone twigged that the santa trips to Lapland use one of the sites involved so people with airline employed relatives are now volunteering for weekends and school holidays so that their families can take advantage of the company paid hotel accomodation. No timetable yet although its rumoured they want them to start next week. Theres nowt like being organised and this is about as disorganised as it gets.

Managed to sleep through the night for the first time in yonks. Checked to make sure the old dear hadn't departed in the night (she hadn't and wasn't overly impressed to be woken by cold fingers in her ear). Am anticipating this happening any day now although suspect she'll just keep going which will make it more of a shock when it finally happens.

Finally got my drivers licence photos sorted using the queue jumping techno gadget in the main post office worked out a whole 50p cheaper than using a photobooth and saved the cost of a stamp too. Go me. Trogged round the shops looking for an inspirational purchase for DD1s birthday. Failed miserably. Came home and ordered Just Dance 3 from Tesco got 300 extra points and 8% Quidco. Haven't found anything else at all.

The illegal immigrant phoned in sick again. Convenient how she always does this 15 minutes before she should start in the middle of the afternoon. A stern talking to is in order this afternoon if she shows up.

Finished sewing hundreds and thousands onto the cupcake hat somewhere around midnight. Got huffed at by the geriatric old dear somewhere around 5am and haven't managed to get back to sleep. OH hasn't had the same problem.

Are you thinking of going to see Father Christmas?:)

Re your cleaner, give her a good talking to.

No piccies of the hat, although I'll see it daily so will take some eventually. People at work are a bit in shock at the thought of me doing something so little old lady, they did think the hats owner was joking when she told them I'd made it for her. Have already been asked about more hats and tea cosies and jumpers.... suspect I will be refering some of them on to a friend with far more time on her hands.

Cleaner is sulking and not speaking to me. Mind you shes not speaking to my boss either after he suggested she starts her maternity leave now if shes constantly as ill as she claims to be.

Vaguely considering spending tomorrow afternoon at a food festival but will wait and see how I feel after horse riding. Am still incredibly tired which isn't surprising really given how little sleep I've had lately.
