OOh, a birthday! Have a lovely day, hopefully the rain won't last but if it does maybe you could get started on some of those gorgeous socks?

Does that little red cross mean that the mad cat lady look is too horrific for folk of a nervous disposition to see? Now a few things are falling into place ...

Now you're giving her ideas, DT. Although it does look rather like one of those loo roll holders from the birthday book. (Does anyone as old as me remember that cringingly awful - um, unless you like them, of course - loo roll cover that was a slender doll, which stood down the middle of the roll, with a knitted skirt that covered the paper? My gran made loads of them - I was quite taken with them when I was 5, but my mum held on to them for waaay too long to be fashionable. I remember we had one in pink, one in yellow, and - my favourite - a rather fetching blue and white mix. Ah, those really weren't the days.)

PS I have to admit to being rather traumatised. I googled "doll toilet roll cover knitting pattern". I shouldn't have, I know - but it seemed a more pleasing occupation than trying to do a whole year's accounts in an afternoon - and I came across this. The toilet roll ladies were bad enough, but then I scrolled down and saw the poodle. Some repressed memories are beginning to surface ...

happy birthday Moo (hug) *sings along with Wordsmith*

(Wordsmith, I have a relative who STILL has one of those dolls in the downstairs loo... and I don't think she's being ironic. Well if she is, she went to the trouble of buying the Loo-Laughs plaques from from various coach trip towns to go with it, so is being very ironic indeed.)
