Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

The messy elves seem to have taken up residence in DD2s bedroom. Theres no floor space left. Have threatened clearance by bin bag on Friday if shes not sorted it by then.
In more exciting news OH arrived home with a tub of ear plugs and DD2 materialised with her cornet which sounds suspiciously like someone trumping very loudly. Guess we've got a while before the very deaf and distant neighbours start to complain.
Did more cleaning than anticipated thanks to somone knocking a drink over the remotes and the sofa and the floor, wall, and dog. Still have a reprieve today as I'm orf for my annual shearing.
Still no sign of the x-mas pud pattern. Will see if I can get a paper copy put in the post instead.
Have come up with a very short birthday shortlist comprising of this and this.... although it would be far more sensible just to buy the sizes I need as I need them at £6 a time **although birthdays aren't about being sensible***, particularly because the sets come in three lengths and it would be sooo annoying to get 6" needles when I really needed 4" or vice versa. Why are the simplest of things so complicated?
Managed not to spend anything so far this week which isn't particualry impressive because its only Wednesday. Not setting foot in a supermarket helps although I'll have to do that fairly soon because the car is in need of go-go juice. Hoping to string that out until the weekend.
DD1 is at school until 9pm doing some sort of demonstration for new parents evening. She'll be unbearable on Thursday.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I too have the knitting bug and am in the middle (alright, only just started) knitting a panda and I have to say black wool is the horriblest thing to knit with, I can't see a single stitch which in one way means the mistakes don't show up but I'm knitting the legs right now and I don't want to have a lop-sided panda......
I really want to try your dalek coffee pot cover. Looks fab and would make a great present for a couple of my friends.
Although I had probably best hold my horses as i need to do this panda and then a little cardi for my friends son before Xmas!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Worry about the legs being lob sided once you've stuffed them and find one is fatter than the other and then longer than the other and then one becomes eligable for a knobbly knees contest. Thats a whole heap more fun.
Am 90% of the way through another tiny pink hat. Seem to be getting the hang of super pointy needles which is just as well as OH has agreed to purchase me a v. posh set for my birthday. Better still hes taking me to choose them at a humungous specialist shop must try not to get too carried away with other things whilst I'm there. Bet I fail miserably though. Still best use the advantage gained by the result of the annual shearing which has seen me go from mad cat lady with straggly shoulder length curls hair to something akin to Emma Watson post electric shock. Its all a bit mad pixie. I like it thoughSaving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I can picture you MOO:)
I am sort of heading towards the mad cat lady though I did have mine cut and coloured 3 weeks ago
Enjoy your shopping.
You are up early this morning...or have you not just gone to bed yet.

Erm, please describe the mad cat lady look."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Up too chuffing early.... again. COmbination of geriatric hound feeling the need to investigate the garden and horrizontal rain banging against the window all night. Am rather tired but can't get back to sleep.
Went to the wool emporium yesterday. Was as fabulous as anticipated but also v. annoying since nothing was priced. You had to keep asking which was very annoying, especially as the staff were busy the other side of the beaded curtain packaging internet orders. Its not somewhere I'd hurry back to. Bottled out of buying the things I'd gone to buy, ended up with a single pack of Knit Pro Symphonie needles instead of the set I fancied mostly because once I'd seen them in person they were a bit of a let down, especially at £35. Came home and bought the same thing via E-bay for £20 from someone who had listed a set 10 minutes before I turned the PC on. Clearly fate is not something to be argued with. Bit disappointed I didn't end up with any wool but then the stuff I'd seen on the internet wasn't on display in the shop. Detoured home via the only branch of Dunelm mill in the uk that doesn't sell wool or fabric.... which meant a quick trip to Hobbycraft where I bought a whole ball of wool. I am clearly not the last of the big spenders.
Had lunch out which was most pleasant. Upset OH a little when I declined the offer of dinner out tonight at a carvery. Tis not the vegetarian venue of choice. Hoping we've compromised on a chinese take out, although I'd be quite happy with cheese on toast and an early night. I doubt thats on the cards.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
