OMG have walked in the door to find DD1s newly decorated RE book sitting on the table ready for me to cover it in sticky backed plastic. Whilst the fact shes finished her homework a week early is not a shock in itself I fear the presence of a giant cannabis leaf on a Jamaican flag may not go down too well at school. Clearly Google classes Rastafarianism as a religion. Doubt schools RE teacher will agree.
Ho hum.
Washing on the line. Wasn't brave enough to hang out the duvet cover. I'd only be retrieving it from a thorny hedge at some point later in the day. Going to have a quick cuppa and half an hours quality me time before tackling the kitchen. Feel absolutely shattered and its only Tuesday.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

:rotfl::rotfl: This was good enough to bring me out of Lurkersville :rotfl::rotfl:Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

I do not know why my posts have a thumbs down by them, but hey ho. Yes Rastafarianism is a recognised religion in UK. Lol I guess that this will make her stand out. Is that a good thing?

It did cross my mind but as it turns out she just decided not to bother turning up... again. Getting really cheesed off by this. Especially since her scan was unable to pinpoint her due date.... yes really and shes due back again in three weeks which is about the average wait from the letter arriving for a routine scan locally. It would be rather mean of me to conclude that she hadn't actually had a scan yesterday but then she seems to be the only person in the world to have regular GP appointments on Bank Holidays and Sundays which mean taking the following day off. Perhaps shes allergic to Mondays too.
Either way she turned up yesterday which meant I didn't spend another day running round like a headless chicken.
Managed to knit a few more rows which is most definately a very easy way to relax. Washed and dried the bedding. Had a quick tidy of the kitchen. Made seven jars of Damson Jam with cinnamon and then cleared up the mess again. Hoovered upstairs. Took delivery of a very large parcel which OH had purchased at the show. Have been assured that this is the only one. Spent the afternoon at work. Arrived home totally kettled. Again. Ate dinner and collapsed in a heap with a book but not before berating DD1 who has managed to feed the school vending machines a fiver in two days. Was not at all impressed. Finished the book which was surprisingly good despite being v. trashy and highly predictable chick lit. T'was just what was needed.
Plans for today involve much tidying. The place is slowly getting tidier. Very slowly. But it is making a noticable difference.
Got a fabulous letter from the truly wonderful people of FloGas. Gas is going up 8p a litre in a fortnight. Pretty sure its only a matter of months since it was previously increased. This means an increase of something approaching £70 per tank fill or £140 per year (assuming the winter is pretty mild).... in real terms this is an increase of something approaching 14% .... admitedly it could be less but since prices keep spiraling upwards I can never figure out quite how much they're going to stitch us up for until the bill arrives. The helpful letter never says we've increased your price from x to y just we've slapped 8p or so per litre on it. Oh joy! Will be ordering another delivery of logs for the winter and purchasing another couple of electrickery guzzling oil filled radiators because it works out cheaper in the long run.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

The autor was Katie Fforde. Haven't a clue what the book was called. I abandoned it in the staffroom this morning as part of the school book exchange programme, a cunning thing where the boss buys stuff in hardback as soon as its released and the rest of us get to read it for nowt. Theres usually plenty of interesting stuff to be found lurking on the shelves.
Arrived home to find a bin bag full of apples and several kilos of damsons sitting on the doorstep. I feal a tad more jam making is on the cards.
Ordered more cinnamon sticks and vanilla pods this morning as I'm out of both. That should keep me going for a few months. Cleaned out a shelf in the larder, a bag of imitation ready brek had escaped its restraints. At least the cupboard is tidier and its become apparent that I haven't E-bayed in quite some time since almost all the cereals are still in their boxes. I usually use them for packaging material.
Going to attempt to structure my day and do quality me things between now and 11am. Housey stuff from 11-12. Will scoff lunch, do a bit more housey stuff and then spend the last half hour of the day paperworking. Perhaps thats the key to actually getting stuff done.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Being organised didn't quite work out the way I'd planned. Enjoyed my me time and made inroads into the laundry basket just as OH arrived home. Didn't get much else done at all. Did however finally get round to sorting out some of the insurance. Managed to knock £52 off the house policy with a further £32 cashback. Thats roughly a third less than the renewel quote. Hoping I can work similar miracles with the car insurance which is todays challenge.
In more fabulous news it is finally pay day..... will do the monthly money shuffle and then throw as much as I possibly dare at the giant noose around my neck in the hopes of getting back to where I want to be. Will not be debt free by my birthday but since thats been my aim for the past two years and I've thwarted myself both times with outrageous birthday gifts, it doesn't really come as a huge surprise. At least this year I'm not going to splurge on a new motor.... mind you I wasn't planning to do that last year either.
Managed to sleep through the night for the first time in weeks. Woke up convinced the geriatric old dear had expired in the night. Turns out she hadn't and she wasn't particularly impressed at being rudely awoken by me shoving my fingers in her ear to see if it was still warm.
Survived yesterday with a stright face depite a very serious conversation with a rep who dropped in with several life changing products. Managed to wangle a few freebies to try, even managed to persuade him to fit them for me. Couldn't resist. No doubt I'll be spending today on the naughty step as the ladies all pop into the staff gents loos to see if I've actually done what I'm rumoured to have done.
Further plans for the day involve surviving tonights disco, hoping to avoid having to stay until the bitter end but have a feeling that will happen anyway.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Love it too, but in all seriousness you have done them a favour. Giving them something to aim at helps to increase flow and keep their prostate healthy
So says my niece who used to work for the Prostate Cancer CharityBut that may have been when she was convincing us to buy Pee Balls for our loved ones, apparently a ping pong ball works just as well but they are not biodegradable :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
