I think the new pattern looks like a dalek
How about knitting phone socks? They should be fairly quick and easy (say's the person that can barely knit :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:):j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

The price is largely irrelevant. Its my ability to knit it that should be questioned. The instructions are nothing short of bizarre and seem to require me to be able to dislocate my wrists in order to achieve some of the jiggery pokery required..... of course I can go from a simple knit one purl one to knitting in the round in what looks to be three directions at once using eight needles without getting confuzzled. Whether I can do it this lifetime remains to be seen.
BeanieLoo - I have sock wool but not the needles required although a v. nice septic tank did supply me with a circular needle as a promo for her new book. Am running out of excuses and hours in the day to do these things.
Fianlly did some housework today. Not a lot but then OH and DD2 had taken over the dining room with model making kits. The less said about that the better. Am still getttng over the £30 kit the monkeys hve obtained. Not even going to think about the "bargain" OH treated himself to.
DD1 decided to take herself off up the road to the school bus stop and even retuned in one piece albeit 40 minutes later by which time I was climbing the walls and had convinced myself she'd got lost, been run over or kidnapped. She arrived home with a huge cheesy grin, skipping down the last bit of road (bet she doesn't do that in the rain) and proceeded to make buns. Lots and lots of buns. Apparently its fuel for todays polocrosse class.
Ocado made me an offer that was too good to be ture and so this weeks shopping is being delivered for 49p with a £15 discount thrown in. Most chuffed. Have ordered travel sized milk for DD1 and OH to take on their epic adventure. It was a heck of a lot cheaper than paying £19 for breakfast at the hotel. Just need to remember to send them with bowls, spoons and cereals.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Sometimes being a Northerner has its down sides. OH claims its all to do with my upbringing but I feel this ridiculous urge to do completely unrealistic things just to prove I can. Even though I know I can't or shouldn't or should vaguely acknowledge that the task I'm hell bent on screwing up is completely beyond me and thus I've spent the morning seeking out cable needles. Quite why a short piece of metal with a kink in it is the answer to life, the universe and everything else (for this week at least) remains a little unclear but I'm determined to have everything in place for [STRIKE]botching[/STRIKE] attempting the navy blue sci-fi coffee cosy which is most definately not a darlek... cor imagine the Beebs reaction to someone producing a free uncopyrighted pattern. Lordy lordy. Heads would roll.
Obviously, having waded through all six pages of instructions (eeek) I now need to get my hands on several key objects in order to achieve this. Most notable being navy blue wool because I doubt it would be quite as funky in barbie pink. After that I need to hunt out 4mm double ended needles and a crochet hook and thats all before I work out what the hyroglyphics that are the key to the whole thing actually mean.
However since its already ten past eight and today is the first day of the academic year I really need to kick the slumbering monsters from their pits and get them out the door in order to show my face in half an hour before going AWOL to perform chaufeuring duties.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Clearly we do not live in the same country as according to my watch it is only 7:20 now so how you managed to be at 8:10 10 minutes ago is beyond me or is it a secret ploy to get the girls up and ready early by changing all the clocks!!! :rotfl:0 -

Erm, have I missed something? Northern version of Cockney slang? Is it something different in Wales from what it is in Ireland? Did you not like her? I am not sure whether I am confused or showing my ignorance."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Tis cockeny rhyming slang for an american of course. Well, it wasn't "Yank". So, yes, I was showing my ignorance.
