Yet more financial faux pas and many other disasterous decisions

Postie has been bringing with it my first ever wage slip from my second job. Turns out what I thought was finally the change from emergency tax to normal tax is actually the allocation of holiday pay. Pretty sure this is a mistake because I'm not contracted to do any hours its all ad hoc.
Just sewing eyelids on the owl (having stopped to knit them because I'd forgotten that bit) and then an hour or so of sewing in loose ends and stitching it up and it will be ready for the postman to take it to live with its new mum. DD2 is now drinking tea in the hopes one of them will be stopping here although shes also seen the rabbit pattern and the mice and likes them too.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Persuaded the DDs to cycle to the post office. Tis fabulously sunny out. Will be spending the remainder of the day evicting triffids from the garden and hopefully finding space for the kale.
Postage on the owlswas £1.33 as they scrape in under 100g when packaged. Rather ridiculously its cheaper to send them to NZ. Can't figure that one out but I can get one to Chev for £1.12 surface mail or £2.07 Airmail.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Hi Moo
My mother loves owls! If you could knit me one, it would be a super Christmas present for her.

The 12 week delay between posting it and it arriving might have something to do with the cost though!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Nurgh... had forgotten what it feels like to wake up to a shrieking alarm clock. Tis even more annoying when its someone elses and they've already left though not before hitting the snooze button on departure. Dropped back off for 20 more minutes of oblivion before mine did the same thing. Meh. Feel like !!!!!. Although I'm sure thats only temporary. Stayed up late last night. Late for me that is. Watched the start of News at Ten before retiring for the night.
Spent yesterday pootling. Much knitting, little housework. Assisted OH fitting the second sets of floor supports to the landie floor. Hoping hes found his enthusiasm again.
Whirlwind of a day today although possibly not a productive one since the chaps resurfacing the road outside school managed to burst the water main last night. Rentals have departed leaving the place in a heck of a state. Will take days to clear up the mess they've made. Glad I'm only there for the morning.
Spending the afternoon at the opticians in the hopes of getting to the bottom of DD1s headaches. Hopefully an evening of peace is on the cards at the DDs have martial arts. Fingers crossed they don't make epic announcemnts of the sort last nights instructor made..... residential summer camp, an entire weekend for £55 in a mere three weeks time. Of course they want to go. Doesn't help that its two hours away and one of the three instructed sessions occurs whilst I'm in work. OH is working that weekend and can't take them. Its not awfully expensive and they would enjoy it but just not this month. Other parents were flinging money at the instructor to book places and buy camp hoodies and t-shirts and training uniforms. Felt v. mean. We could afford it if needed and give it them instead of birthday presents but since we can't get them there in time for the start of it it seems a bit daft. Doubt they would see it that way.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
