Found the googly eyes hidden elsewhere in the garden. The postie has obviously been having fun. Several hours of tedious stitching up later the tea cosy is finished and is much better than I feared. Piccies to follow in daylight hours.

hi m2m.Glad to see you all had such a good time on holiday.Sometimes the expense is worth the boost we get from them. My OH doesn't understand my complete reluctance to cook when we are on holiday. I cook the other x weeks of the year, why the heck would I want to do it on holiday.....and breath.

Yeah to being sorted with school uniform. That must been a relief!

Hope things are going the way you want with OH. Remember to stand firm....

Have finally finished sewing labels into DD1s high school uniform. Got a bit caried away but knowing DD1 she'll loose everything withint the first week which necessitated labelling PE socks and trainers and calculators and pencil cases and bags and coats and purses as well as all the obvious stuff. Hopefully I won't have to sew in any more labels for at least six months. Have shown her where each and every label is in the hopes that this speeds things up when shes trawling through lost property looking for whatever it is.

Paid for my car tax on line yesterday. Have to do OHs at the post office so will do that later today when I venture there to post a load of parcels.

Have one more load of laundry to do before starting on the bedding. Am sick of washing.

Spent £20 in the village shop yesterday on milk and tobacco. Scary just how expensive thats getting too. Mind you paying £2 for 2 litres of milk was far cheaper than driving to a supermarket would have been. Hoping I can string that out until school starts back, especially now that there are lots of ripe veggies in the garden and fruits in the hedgerows.

Planning to go school shoe shopping at the outlet village at some point today. At least then I'll be able to figure out how much money I'll have left after car insurance and house insurance. Doubt it will be much at all. DD1 may well be taking packed lunches for the first few weeks rather than £3 a day for school meals. Might compromise with dinners once or twice a week to keep her happy but the idea of forking out £60 a month for school dinners does not appeal.

M2M - Fantastic Tea Cosy - have you worked out how much they'd cost if you sold them @ the country markets? or one of the craft groups on FB?

Given the speed I knit and factoring in minimum wage and materials something approaching £80. Realistically about a tenth of that. Its obviously not going to make me a millionaire overnight but it was loads of fun to do.

Having made all my mistakes on this one I'll make sure I sew it up as I go along next time as the eyelids and eye surrounds look identical but obviously aren't which gave me several headaches at the time.
