Oh dear DT, if ZTD is reading he would have a field day with you. Have you ever heard of the tv series Tipping the Velvet............... if not, well, lets just say that your choice of examples may well cause a few raised eyebrows :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Laydeess  I know not what to say......

Tis a simply glorious morning. Still have tons of laundry to wade through but hopefully it won't take all day. Have finished unpacking, read a 350 page novel cover to cover and commenced sewing name labels into DD1s uniform. Discovered the courier has been leaving parcels without notes in the garden so now have more bits of land rover and DD1s high school bus pass. Am not entirely convinced the senders meant them to sit around in the garden for a week or so though.

Still need to venture forth and purchase school shoes and fit in a lot more road crossing practice in the hopes of reassuring DD1 that she'll manage to make it to the bus in one piece each day. Other than that I'm hoping we're pretty much there with the back to school stuff which is just as well as my expenditure over the past week has been ridiculous. Only being half board but not having anywhere to prep food meant we've had pastries for lunch most days at somewhere between a fiver and a tenner a time. Those days we went somewhere other than the beach set us back roughly £50 in entry fees and then theres the random ice cream spends and the penny games in the amusement arcades and two tanks of fuel for the car. All in all I guess we've spent something approaching £700 which is rather scary when that doesn't include accomodation. No wonder people go abroad on last minute all inclusive holidays. Thats not far short of my entire salary this month.

Still it was a week away from normality and one that made me eternally grateful to be home again. Am revitalised and refreshed and ready to tackle the world one overgrown hedgeplant at a time. Which is just as well because they've all gone mad. Flinging the hedge trimmers about like a light saber is most therapeutic though.

Great to hear you had a good time.
Unfortunately holidays do cost money but the memories are priceless.

And you so, so needed that holiday. So it was therapy, a fun time, and made you appreciate home - all in all, you could consider it a bargain. Maybe.

If only £700 was a bargain..... still it was a break from the norm.

Have had a fun filled half hour masacring hedges. Its a never ending chore. I much prefer that to ironing though. Have filled one wheelie bin. Have until the end of tomorrow to fill the other although I fear that will be full of weeds because the nettles have gone mad. Did suggest that we made nettle soup but the DDs weren't keen.

Feeling really tired today. Holidays are exhausting things. Hopefully another three loads should clear the backlog of laundry and several days of ironing avoidance should liberate the arm chair. Need to wash all the windows too since next door have been muckspreading. Just glad they weren't doing it yesterday otherwise I wouldn't have made any headway with the laundry.

Am studiously avoiding listing tat on fleabay although I have loads to go on. Have sold another couple of things on Amazon though using their trade-in option which netted me more profit than selling them on there myself would have done.

Off to tackle the kitchen before OH arrives home to find last nights washing up is still lurking.
