I am with the others on the owl tea cosy though not too sure about the other one - that is definitely grounds for commital I would say
Love the sound of the beetroot and butternut squash burgers and the beetroot muffins. But then I love beetrootSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
You're so not helping ladies! You're supposed to reassure me that all 30 something coffee drinkers covert tea cosies even though they only ever make tea in a cup or regret using the posh spoutless pot that spills more on the worktop than it gets in the cup. I do own a tea pot which matches my dinner service right down to the waterjug and salad bowl but I'd have to dust it first since its not been out of the cupboard in quite some time.
Am going to take both patterns to Hobbycraft when I can peruse the vast aray of wools on offer and come awy having bought something else entirely.... quite possibly something a little like this.
First need to persuade Dobby the House Elf to come out from under her bed, remove the socks from her hands and OHs pants from her head and over her PJ bottoms and prepare to venture out into the civilised world.
Meanwhie have made a batch of whiskey marmalade using up the dregs of the bottle and have even started labelling DD1s high school uniform, albeit by superluing the label into her pencil case.
ps. Lucielle...... the designer sells the owl and an amazing cat, the pattern of which I haven't been able to find anywhere although I've tried very hard....Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
My mid life crisis is clearly not here yet, I have never felt a yearning to knit.
Now crocheting on the other hand ...0 -
It's lovely to feel the happiness flooding out of your posts what a lovely time has been had by all
As to knitting I have had the urge too and so far have knitted a dog and would have knitted some rainbow socks with toes if I could have got the requisite 4ply wool but even a visit to a large material/wool emporium not too far from you I would imagine only resulted in 4ply wool in baby colours so I think the wool industry has been doing some subliminal advertising :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: have got the sewing machine out too after about 3 years so they may be putting stuff in the water too
Enjoy the rest of your day

PS I love the mouse tea cosy and I don't drink tea or like mice so how weird is that?0 -

Confessions of a shopaholic..... normally depressed women shop to cheer themsleves up. Clearly I suffer from the reverse. Having departed for Hobbycraft armed with a list and a second list just in case and a £5 off a £25 shop... not that I'd intended spending anything like that... really... no honestly.. I was very good and selected the four balls of wool required for the owl tea cosy and the knitting needles and the sewing up needle.... then the DDs appeared and we negotiated down from a giant Fimo set and some ridiculously tacky everything you never thought you needed to make jewellery kit to pom pom keyrings and sun catchers. T'was all going so well until I found the end of line bargain bucket and discovered everything within to be a mere 49p.... even that stuff with a £5 price tag. Didn't take much persuasion to rack up to the value of the voucher. Have more wool than I can imagine using... more than enough for the owl and mouse tea pots... several times over.... and enough stripey sock wool to knit at least a dozen pairs of socks... its all the same colour (Wendy Happy Scorpio)... if anyone else can make use of it at cost let me know otherwise it'll be making an appearance on flebay very shortly!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Yes I'll take one pair please - I assume you will knit them for me :rotfl:
I have found a website with other Wendy Happy Wool on and I am particularly liking Venus, Milky Way, Fondant, Mars & Sagittarius so if you could pop back and get some to make me some more stripey socks that would be great :rotfl:0 -
