My kids dont do that. I never did that.
These are the people who don't get there own way and shout and scream when they are older.
I bet you are the first to kick off when something goes wrong.:p
I have read all the posts on this thread and it is you who comes across as a really agrresive type, who would kick off at the smallest thing going wrong, not the other poster who you seem only to keen to ridicule.
I agree with 'make me wise', who has been on this forum a long time and speaks alot of sense, violence solves nothing.
As for the 'smily' you added at the end. It doesn't make you look big or clever just really childish. Wonder how you would handle this if we were face to face, probably give me a slap hey!0 -

it doesnt matter what you think. its against the law unless hes studying towards an apprenticeship which he isnt.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I only have to look at my kids a certain way and they stop i have them under control, but if they ever did anything like that i would slap them he is 16 years old and if he goes off like that in the real world someone will turn round and do alot worse to him.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. There are various scenarios which might work that he only earns £2.50 an hour (eg charging for board etc) as the actual minimum wage is £3.64 so they wouldn't be charging much for his board or whatever. That is the real world that you have to pay your way and he and many youngsters needs to learn that.dirtysexymonkey wrote: »it doesnt matter what you think. its against the law unless hes studying towards an apprenticeship which he isnt.0 -

THis whole teeage thing seems to be very commo. my 15yr ols DS got made redundant from his paper round in january and has been unable to get a job since and as he is not 16 till end of august is very unlikely to.
He too was on xbox all night so ive hidden it. if he picks his younger brother up from school he gets paid 3 quid. money is not given by me but i will always give the option o earning it in some way, but he has a serious attitude problem and thinks its fine to be out all night at mates houses without asking me. so i took the mobile aand door keys. and told him i want him home by10 on weeknights and 11 on weekends. for some reason i am being unreasonable.
Also told him if he spends abother bight out without permission then he is going to have t find somewhere else to live. it has kind of worked cause he fell asleep at mates house (so he says) and ended coming bac at 3am after begging the dad to give him a lift home when he got bac from night shift. but we were all fast asleep so he ended up outside for 45mins. untilhe was scared by a fox and started hammering down the door and woke me and half the neighbours up.
but he was definately indoors before 11 the nxt night. But him and his hormones are driving me mad and i am fed up with being angry with him when i dont feel thati am being unreasonable in asking him to respect our home and the people in it.0 -
care homes are always crying out for staff, even unqualifed. they like having the young uns so they can pay um less. At least its a job though, and can make the kids realise that maybe they should try and train for something better than minimum wage, if that is what they wantThe opposite of what you know...is also true0

When I was at school, students were hired to clean the school before and after hours. It paid a decent ammount, and because they were students at the school, they could start work faster as the need for CRB checks wasn't there
I know that opportunity won't be around over the summer months, but its worth looking into if he doesn't have a job by then (or even asking now in case one of the current cleaners is leaving, then it can be lined up ready).
I can't see how a grandad, giving his grandson pocket money for helpinghim out is illegal. The grandfather isn't an employer, there are no contracts, employment law simply doesn't apply,so neither does minimum wage. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0 -
Ok, some people 'may' have got wrong end of stick. Not an uncommon thing on here. Lol. My DS hasn't got piercings or funny coloured hair.
When I say my dad is going to get him labouring, I meant working in his garden( all 4 acres) and yes it is only £2.50/hr, but he gets to live there in his own room, 3 enormous meals a day from my mum, plus my dad's homemade cider(blehhhh). Best of all, it's in the middle od nowhere, no Internet, friends or xbox. It's like Boot camp, but he's getting paid.
I would never raise a hand to him. He's too blooming big for a start;)
But I have reconsidered, he did manage to get there 2 mornings on the trot for 5.45 am. He's just too dozy to realise he needed to make sure he wrote the right times down in the first place. I think the swearing resulted in too little sleep and the realisation that he had blown it. Maybe I just need to be a little more 'helicopter' next time and make sure I know the right details until he's matured a bit.Noli nothis permittere te terere
